Over 1,500 new features for Google Chrome

Same here and same here. I've never bought something through an ad in my entire life. Every single item I order I price search to find the cheapest + shipping. Also... those animated adds make me want to remove whatever site I see them on from my bookmarks. Know how hard it is to read an...

Sheriff Uses Software To Scare Kids Away From Drugs

Part of our social evolution revolves around alcohol. They think it is why humans became agrarian. We have a very high tolerance for it all things considered. Imagine if you did Acid all day every day for 20 years. You would be a lot worse off than a bum liver and brain damage. Nicotene isn't...

    Lenders Checking Your Facebook Accounts?

I took mine to 2/3 of its max one time and it knocked ~70 points off my credit score. Hurt me dearly since I was in the process of getting a mortgage. Since then I pay the thing off every pay day.

Analyst Expects Intel Netbook Growth to Slow

what is less reliable about a netbook? My $250 one hs a WD drive, intel guts, and an LED backlight. If anything it seems like it would be more reliable with less heat cooking it and less parts to fail.

U.S. Geek Shortage Is National Security Risk

Round here the starting pay for that field is about 25-35k. You make much more doing manual labor or, for the amount of time you were in school, you could be a burger king manager by now making the same amount and with extra money in the bank from the years of working instead of paying tuition...

    X-Ray Vision Made Easy

Ok, so when I am coming up to a dangerous blind corner. I pull over. Get out. Install two cameras. Then have a computer merge the two live streams at once. Should work great! Would work for brits though, no need for them to install cameras, they already have them everywhere so the gov can watch...

U.S. Geek Shortage Is National Security Risk

I wanted to go in to the field pretty badly until I researched it Average to crappy pay Must stay ahead of the curve or become obsolete (Constant education fight to stay ahead) Less job security later in life Screw that. I'm not going to school to be a public nerd bitch who makes little and is...

I'm done with early adopting!!!!!! 400 dollar X2 3800, lasted a long time but 400 for the budget chip?!?! I was stupid Then there was the brand new MSI AM3 board I bought that caught on fire when I overclocked. WTF! Bit on a Raptor, sort of marginal. Was expensive as heck but served well...

No Cross Platform VS for Street Fighter?

I got all excited and made a live account in SF4. Got ready to play with my friends. Voice chat works, although only in private, can't join parties. Next we tried to play. He invited me to a game. "Please start Street Fighter 4 and open this message again" ok WTF Now I tried to invite him...

STEAM Mid-week madness: King's Bounty: The Legend and Armored princess - $11.25

The first game played easier and smoother IMO. This one has dead zones. Sometimes youll be at a level and not be able to find anything in your level range to level on. You have to fight super hard stuff and constantly replace your troops until you level a bit... or cheat. I've hit two such gaps...

DEAD Died while I was in the middle of checking out. I put in the wrong date on my CC and it failed to go through. Netflix Agree to Delaying Delivery of DVDs

From the couch yes, from my computer chair no (42 inch TV / Monitor). Not a problem for me either. I often don't even bother to hit the high quality button on hulu shows / movies. "Most" entertainment doesn't need fine details to be enjoyed.

Netflix Agree to Delaying Delivery of DVDs

About the only thing I use from the service is the streaming but it is nice to be able to nab whatever new releases come out that I want to see also. This is a pretty big let down. Means you have to use a different service and pay more money if you want to see a new release. Its nice that...

    Speakers For Your Light Sockets

Yep. You can outfit your house with them and save 50 or 60 dollars a year, for only a few thousand bucks ;) And they "can" last forever (good luck with that, there is more to fail in one than the actual LED).

    alan wake xbox only ?

Sorry but games designed for consoles are console crap. There are some major design compromises that have to be made and then a ton of small ones. The major ones are unchangeable and the developers usually don't even bother with the small ones (no mouse usage in menus etc...).

    Thinking about trying WoW.

Its cheaper to buy all the games in a bundle. The game used to be very difficult, a little unforgiving, and fairly challenging. At least in comparison to how it is now. Now days it is VERY dumbed down. Doing max DPS requires less coordination than the easiest track on guitar hero, and plays...

    NFS: Shift

I did ok with the keyboard until I got to the higher horsepower cars. My cheap analog controller is also nearly on or off but it is still a lot better. I'm sure some of you guys picked this up with the steam sale. What do you think of it? Sofar for me: Keyboard is impossible to play with. Made it to tier two, was going nuts. Hooked up analog controller. Much much much better. They put zero thought into making the game playable with...
