20g routing with NGFW features enabled. This is an effort to reduce power draw from my current Dell R620 that is currently my router.
Because i like to go fast. I have a 48 port 10g switch, all of my servers have 10g.
It came with them. I took them out in effort to switch from SATA 960GB SSDs...
Finally got the Intel X550-T2 and Intel X710-DA2 NICs in and installed and got some time to install opnsense 24.1. Using a ZFS mirror on the 960g SSDs. Just have to configure the interfaces then i think im ready to upload my cfg. Still throwing around the idea of disabling cores.
I 100% agree with this. We run two HyperV HA Clusters connected to a SAN in production with none of these issues. All of our IT guys also are running HyperV in their homelabs and are also having none of the problems listed.
We also run Proxmox in production. We have it on a 4 CPU server and it...
Are they just default configured? if so that is probably why. We had 3-4 at every site, over 40 sites. When you have to work all day then travel 2-8 hours to a site cause the switch went rogue then drive back 4 hours and then sleep and be in the next morning like 10 times then youd understand...
id bypass netgear, we used to use them at work and after alot of issues with them we are replacing them. Port failures, weird issues with loopbacks and sudden factory resets.
As someone who runs a brocade and has for 4 years straight the power draw and noise is a non issue. If you want a quiet low power one then the 7250 series does exactly that. Ive had several people i know get them on my recommendation and love them. Id venture to bet that the brocade outlives...
I do improvements/upgrades/optimizations as soon as its ready to deploy. I go in and do it right the first time so its tidy. If i have to take the network down for a weekend to rewire it properly then thats what i do. I usually dont prolong things so they stack up. Also to hell with making...

ICX 6610 and ICX 7250 have 8x 10g ports.
We switched to a different model server for our phone servers at work. We were using Dell R340/R350s but switched to Poweredge XR11s. We had a R350 sitting in a corner that wasnt going to be used so i asked my boss if i could have it and he said yes.
Brand new in the box R350. Has 4HR ProSupport...
Long time no update.... i know.
Its always fun ordering fittings with the idea that they will work and then do not. I have been battling for a few weeks with these guys.
Beautiful fittings. Love them. However the rotaries are so tight that its near impossible to get them to even spin to...
My experience has been fine. I use them in 2x 40g and use QSFP cables to connect to a switch with QSFP ports in LACP. Though the motherboard already has dual Intel X557-AT2 on board. So i may just LACP those using rj45 transceivers on my 10g switch as it should be sufficient for what im doing...
homelabbing is a constant search of getting as much performance as possible while drawing as low of power as possible and controlling the noise! :)
Alphacool makes drop in enterprise grade open loop kits for these as an option as well. I went custom for max performance since this thing can make...
I got the PSU mounted up to start getting measurements for custom cables. Arc card is now installed in its slot. Though i just saw yesterday someone is making low profile single slot versions now and may switch to that later on. Also am going to unmount the board to put the IO Sheild in. This...
Alright. I had to back burner this project and prepare for christmas, now that is over with we can get back at it.
The guy i bought the SR3 setup from ended up picking up this same case for his compute machine then ordered another for his gaming rig. He is the one that motivated me to kickstart...
Ahh well i guess im done then.
You didnt upgrade any of the cars at all in career races? The something meaningful was meaning doing something other then grinding 50 levels for car credits. But tbh as it sits i have a little over 2 mil credits and have only bought a few cars that werent for the...
