This weekend I copped a new Abit IX38 motherboard and 4 x 1GB of Ballistix Tracers. This replaced my insanely flaky Gigabyte 650i-DS4 and 2 x 1GB of Corsair XMS w/ the Knight-Rider LEDs that were failing memtest horribly.
First impressions of the board? WOW. Build quality, BIOS, features...
Whats with Newegg's return policy now on many of their popular motherboards?
While deciding on which mobo to get, I initially looked at only P35s due to their maturity and cost. Then I started realizing that of the 5 or so Gigabyte flavors of P35, some had only a limited 30-day replacement...

I finally moved my junk off my Test Bench. Great setup and very convenient but the dust of open air and the lack of focused cooling made me want a change...

I've decided to go with the MountainMods Bob Slay case. I was reluctant because I knew I would have to get a new CPU cooler along with it. Well now I'm stuck.
The max height of a cooler in this thing is 120mm. Its actually 124mm i think but I'd prefer to leave a hair of breathing room so the...
Looking to get some green 60mm LED fans for my new SilverStone Sugo project and cant seem to find any online anywhere. If someone knows of a place or can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

I originally bought this power supply to pair up to my new 6800GT after I had one die on me in 36 hours. I really wanted it so I RMA'dit to NewEgg and asked for replacement. They finally got my old one, they went out of stock the night before...so they credited me the cash. Then 12 hours later...
I just got the preorder and bopped on for a 1/2 hour last night to try the game out.
I was impressed with the graphics running on my system. Very smooth and detailed.
The streaming method they employ for getting the needed files to your PC is slick.
After I get done working I plan on...
Curious what controller to use for OC'ing.
I'm switching out my IDE drive soon and wanted some input if anyone knows.

After blowing the resitor cap on my new 6800GT after 5 seconds of juice,
I felt...
So Anand pretty much isht on this mobo for anything beyond stock...
That was due to many issues that were present at the time of the review.
Now I am seeing forum ramblings indicating the new Bios has alleviated some of these problems, my question is...
does anyone own this mobo or know if...
I've never had a problem with generic power supplies...I needed a new one recently to replace the stock AOpen that came with my case. I opted for a cheap/functional CoolMax 400W...got in in my box, also had a snazzy new 6800GT loaded in there, powered on and PFFFFTTT!!!!! Smoke, flames, etc...
<<__UPDATE__>>
I received my RMA from NewEgg after one of the resistor caps on my last card *popped* and burst into smoke and flames  Pics are still on the 2nd page I think from the 1st card. Here are some updated shots from the new one. This time i left the heatsink and did not add AS5...
Ok, I am planning on dropping the roughly $400 on a 6800GT,
I want one with a colored PCB since we all know it will run faster.
I mean, who would buy a new car if it only came in green???
So anyway, I hear the blue ones are faster because blue reflects heat... ;)
my options this far are...
I can't find anything solid, I was curious if anyone had the scoop or suspected scoop. This is the one and only game I am waiting for and I need to have my 6800GT by then. werd
I have a good shot at getting a job that requires some knowledge of desktop support batch processing. Can anyone direct me to good resources that may allow me to BS my way through some of it with some basic knowledge or at least get me some pointers? I am a n00b on this and I dont know where to...
Can someone give me a hypothetical ideal setup for a home network lab in which I can use to study/practice for any or all networking certs I may decide to take? 1st I'd like to get my hands dirty with Linux, routing, file sharing, even possibly something to practice some security basics with...

dropped $700 on mountain bike parts instead :(
