Hello All!
I've recently purchased a new computer, and it arrived Friday. For the past two days, I've been setting it up, arranging cables, etc, and when it came time to turn it on, nothing showed on the screen, I can't hear my HDD loading (nor does the HDD activity LED show anything), and my...
Thanks. I have a birthday coming up, so I'll see about a 7800GTX. ;) The 6600GT is more or less a temporary card until I can go all out.
Also, which programs would you recommend to test stability, burn-in the memory / processor, and simply benchmark the computer? And what order would you...
That's exactly what I've been wanting to hear! I'm not planning on going down the SLi road, and I am not someone who needs full graphical capability at 1600x1200, I like a nice and simple 1024x768 for my games. I thought the 6600GT suited best for what I will be doing.
I just bought a new PC, I hope I made the right choices. I'm a gamer, and a novice overclocker. Comments?

I'll keep it simply, which one should I get from this list?

Would I be able to just get the DFI SLi-DR, flash the BIOS to the latest version, set the BIOS automatically (defaults), and be on my way? I don't plan on overclocking...
Do motherboards come with cables for HDD? I am purchasing an OEM HDD, but I'm unsure if motherboards, or any other component comes with the cables for hookup.
How would you consider putting these two together? I've yet to see someone with an ASUS motherboard and have some OCZ memory.
Also, is a DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR too complicated for a first build?
This is my first build ever (always bought pre-built systems), and I'm curious as to which I motherboard / RAM combination I should purchase. My fear with DFI is that it will be too complicated, but my fear with ASUS is that I won't be able to overclock too much (3200+ @ ~2.4GHz is my goal, not...
What, in your opinion, is the best memory to go with a DFI LANPARTY SLI-DR and a 3200+ Venice, that will allow for great overclocks, and is around the $120.00 price range.
Hey all, I'm building myself a new computer, and I am wanting some comments. I'm not a heavy overclocker, as I rather have stability over power, but I would like to squeeze an extra 200MHz out of the processor to make it 2.2GHz. Would I be able to obtain such an MHz increase with this...
I recently read an article comparing all the nForce 4 (SLi, Ultra, etc) but I lost the bookmark. I was curious is anyone had a link to it, or any other article comparing all the nForce 4 boards?
I was wondering if anyone had comments on my possible build? I want to overclock, so that's the reason for the epensive RAM and the DFI motherboard, and I am a gamer, and I plan on possibly adding another 6600GT at a later date.

Does anyone have an indepth guide explaining what such things as VCore and DIMM are? I'm interested in learning more, but I haven't found an indepth guide explaining everything.
I was curious as to what, in your opinion, is the best ~100$ case, that has exellent cooling (I plan to overclock), doesn't include a power supply (already have one), and is just downright a kickass case?
Any comments on my new system build? I am on a $1200 budget, I plan on overclocking both the CPU and GPU, and I am a heavy gamer.

Each has it's pros and cons (6600GT = higher clock frequencies, cheaper, but it only has 8 pipelines; 6800 Standard = 256-bit, 12 pipelines, but it has lower clock frequencies). I can't seem to find any benchmarks comparing the two, so I was just wondering what your thoughts were? I'm looking...
That is the question. ;) Anyway, I may be purchasing a new computer, but only if one thing is certain: Will SLI2 be compatible with current SLI motherboards? Specifically the DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR? Is it hardware based, or will they have support for it sofware-side?
I was wondering if my 3700+ San Diego overclocked to 2.6GHz would bottleneck the performance of a 7800GTX (any sort of bottleneck)? I'm thinking of possibly purchasing a 7800GTX.
Hey All,
I'm purchasing a new computer and my budget is $1200 and this is what I've compiled so far. I plan on overclocking the 3200+. I am also a heavy gamer, so any suggestions on the build would be appreciated.

The last thing I honestly want to do is overclock my processor. I rather stay stock To put it short, SSE3 or 1MB L2? I game heavily and constantly use Adobe PhotoShop CS.
I'm contemplating over which core I should get. Newcastle sports a 1MB L2 Cache while the Venice has a 512K L2 Cache. Then again, the Venice supports SSE3 while the Newcastle doesn't (at least from what I've gathered). It's sort of a Win-Lose situation, from what I understand. Anyone have any...
I was wondering if it is worth upgrading. To start, I'll list my specifications.
