I respectfully submit that I have many many friends who have firearms and have not used them on people once. Paper, hard drives, metal plates, critters, and game animals, perhaps, but not shooting people.
Headroom offers a few pieces that do similar things. This is probably the most affordable and flexible: http://www.headphone.com/headphone-amps/amplifiers/headroom-total-bithead.php
I'm not certain how this would work seamlessly with Synergy. Effectively what you have is two halves of your laptop monitor surrounding your desktop monitor. I think it could be done, but it wouldn't be a "swipe the mouse across all three monitors" thing. I suspect this Microsoft product will...
I'll be the first to admit that configuring Synergy can be difficult. Once you get past the learning curve (The primary one being that you have to set up definitions for both exiting AND entering the server screen), it's a great tool that does something that this new tool can't: Linux and Mac...
The gaming industry bitches about not being taken seriously, then you have Duke. If you want to really being taken seriously, have more female characters like Alyx from HL2 or (reportedly) Jade from Beyond Good and Evil.
Perhaps this will give Sony/Ericsson the impetus to update their Xperia X10 to something besides 2.1. Oh wait, it took them an absurdly long time to do THAT... It was running 1.6 up until recently.
My understanding is that the mars rover cameras take photos in 3 or 4 snaps, recording red, green, and blue on separate frames, which get combined when they make it back here. I wonder if the satellite that took these photos may use a similar process?
This is true, and part of that is that we all have different levels of hearing damage and none of our ears are tuned the same. If there was a "this will work 100% of the time for everyone" frequency tuning, there wouldn't be nearly so many choices on the market. Sennheiser hits it the closest...
You may want to look at the Grado RS1i/RS2i as well then. GREAT cans (from reviews) that are gorgeous.

Also, bang for the buck (assuming home listening), Sennheiser HD600 kicks almost every other sets of cans around the block. Expensive, but right at the bottom of the diminishing returns. I like the idea of electrostats, but at the end of the day, I can't justify the cost.
I think Sennheiser actually takes the prize for "Most hugely expensive set of cans" with their now discontinued Orpheus model. They went for something like $15k. Supposed to be great, tho.
Now *that's* a statement that has some meaning to me. I know the Sennheiser HD 555's aren't anywhere near the former flagship HD 580s and HD 600s, but they're a good set of cans.
For headphone specific reviews, I generally head to HeadRoom. They build Headphone amps, and test a BUNCH of...
Not all of us can flash BIOS from windows. ;)
Just sayin'. There's some non-trivial applications for floppies. When I can do BIOS flashes in Linux, I'll give up my last box of floppies.
Uh, Google's already at least partially cracked this nut:

I'm not clear as to the speed, however.
To add to this: The communist manifesto states similar goals to the GP:
6. Centralization of the means of communications and transportation in the hands of the State.
I don't really like the way that most cities are set up now either, where a single telco/single cableco typically gets...
This is crap: I can sell a blank book/CD/DVD all day at the same price of a media release, but no one in their right mind would purchase it. Just because "people" associate the value with a physical medium does not mean the content is worthless. Well.. in most cases... "Dude, where's my car?"...
To say that I "don't get" the idea that value is a human concept would be mistaken: I *do* get that. I happen to think that the general public *thinks* they're entitled to free entertainment all the time. I also happen to think that line of thinking is a complete crock of crap: For most...
From a successful author: http://yuki-onna.livejournal.com/563086.html
I think she sums up the good and the bad with the current system. No one claims that any of it is perfect. Many claim that "it does work". The fact that the dumb masses think that entertainment or art should be free...
