Took my 6 Plus into the local store that is licensed to service Apple stuff. I had never had service done before. I setup the appointment online and confirmed over the phone with the local store what I needed to do. I took the phone in and the nice lady informed me that the batteries for the 6...
I've been able to print 1/4-20 threads quite well with my .4mm nozzle. They are stupid easy to model in Fusion360. I do agree that a test print would be a good idea and let it sit for a month. I suspect that 2-layer wall thickness would be sufficient but I would go with 3 to be on the safe side...
I have an Anet A8 (Prusa i3 clone). Lots of printed parts to make it better as well as an E3D V6 hot end. Considering I've invested less than $300 into it, I'm pretty happy.
I should also note I ditched the stock controller board for a RAMPS board using Marlin firmware.
Now if only they would fix their other issues with hardware communication as well. Installed a "windows certified" LAN driver and it caused AUDIO stuttering. WTF? Serious cluster in this iteration. Sadly, my work is deploying W10 fairly soon and I just hope those IT guys are ready.
Ok, so I had an old Bluray drive that I wanted to put in our bedroom PC to watch movies and such. i3 system with GTX950. Worked fine. Swap out the DVD drive for the Pioneer BDC202 Bluray drive and I get the dreaded audio stutter. Used the recommended gigabyte Realtek driver, driver from Realtek...
Well, lets to the maths...
2500 drones sold at about $1K a pop (optional extras)
2500 8 1000 = $2.5 MILLION
That is not chump change by any means. And when competing against the DJI Mavic at a higher price point they could have made some serious cash. The strong advantage would be that a lot...
Well, the complete recall of the Karma drone has to have influenced this a bit. With Chinese knockoffs now easily availbe for less than half the cost they need to step up their game.
Each protocol uses different frequency hopping technology that utilizes different algorithms. Some radios can sense a congested 2.4Ghz area and will automatically narrow their frequency in which they operate to avoid interference. I was part of a world record attempt this past summer where 300...
Looking for an iPod Touch 5th gen for my daughter for Christmas. I'd trust one from one of you shady characters before I trust eBay or a local pawnshop. :) Looking to spend around $100. Most that I've seen have been priced around $80 for the 16GB and more for 32 but some have not been in great...
One protocol... DSMX (by JR/Spektrum). There are many other protocols. DJI has their own, not to mention Futaba, FRSky, HK, Sanyo, Hitec, Airtronics, Graupner and many more. "Most commercial drones" is relative and I would say that DSMX does not have that kind of market share.
Technically, the term "drone" has been synonymous with military UAVs until only recently. The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) was established in 1936... BEFORE WWII. Until the recent tech got to where multicopters were even possible you had drones referred to as model airplanes and model...
Uhm, technically they BOTH broke the law. The pilot should have acquired permission to fly over private property and yes, according to federal law, that "plastic" drone is considered an aircraft in the national airspace no matter what the altitude. This recent ruling I'm sure will be considered...
*sigh* back again for Desktop RAM. My 11 YO daughter has built her first desktop with my parts bin stuff but the 2GB I had are not enough for some things she would like to do. Looking for total of 8GB (4 sticks x2GB) DDR2 800. Happy to pay a little for them. First time I've gotten her to do...
Its actually much more affordable than you think. These racing quads use really high-end motors and batteries. The flight controllers are pretty much all the same but the Rotor Riot guys tweak the settings. The basic frame is about $60. With all your electronics, including a basic transmitter...
The Rotor Riot team is phenomenal and super funny too. Check out the YouTube channel if you have some time to kill. I highly recommend Guns vs. Drones.
Poor attempts at proper language have existed since speech itself emerged. So many idiots now say "I's" instead of mine. Many other examples but being able to communicate is a benefit in any place.
I have two cases and water cooling parts. I just want them gone.
Thermaltake Armor: Its an older case and I have most all of the parts. A well-built full-tower case that will take pretty much any equipment you throw at it. The window has been replaced. Comes with every accessory I could find to...

Those are excellent articles and I highly recommend them.
I know nothing about programming but I have a use for one of these. I'd like to create a sound generator for electric model airplanes. Basically taking the PWM signal from the channel and using it to output sound and/or modulate pitch of sound samples. There are off-the shelf units out there but...
Its becoming like Hulu. It used to be a single commercial, then a couple, then an option to watch a single long one prior to your content, and now its just as bad as watching normal TV or WORSE! I stopped using Hulu a long time ago and cannot see why people still use it. Used to be free with...
