For me the 24 inch has been the sweet spot. I have tried the Sharp 17 inch ,Dell 19, Viewsonic 19 924X ,Viewsonic 20.1 Dell 20.1, Dell 20.1 WS then the Dell 2004FPW.
It has ended my quest. :D
See this is what I dont understand I just got Farcry a couple weeks ago and have been playing the heck out of it at 1440x900. I have no lag, no screen tearing, no bluring nothing. I have lowerd my particle count to low and all my settings are high expct for shadows which is meduim. Inside im...
The DELL i9300. You can get them for around $1100.00 with a geforce 6800 go in them.
They are light around 8.5 pounds You get 2 to 3 hours time on a 9 cell sometimes even a little more with the new bios upgrade.
Plus you can pin mod them drop in a geforce 7800 later. :D My screen is...
Yes it should be. Even though I love my LCD there still is a place in my gaming heart for the flat screen big crt. I mean look at that 24 inch wide screen Sony its a work of art.
You have been given our thoughts return the monitor or buy a better video card.
Just stop trashing the Dell 2405fpw for something thats your fault running a huge a$$ LCD monitor on a 9800pro which can even tax a geforce 7800 makes no sense.
Also stop running it in 5/4 res. If your ATI card...
Yes it does on the contrast but Dells 3 year warranty cant be beat. I had a perfect 2005FPW it was just to small for me. Dell has fixed most of the problems or complaints that have been around this board.
I also had the Dell 2001fp its ok now was great in its day.
1. I love thee for thine low price.
2. I love thee for not having backlight problems or dead pixels.
3. I love thee for thine really fast response time.
4. I love thee because thou doest not BUZZ.
AND BEST of all
5. I love thee because all my games look great on thee. :D
Ok now somebody start a show off your CRT setup thread. I bet some of you guys have some really nice crt setups that we should be seeing. The show of your LCD thread does not have to get all the glory.
After my beloved Nec 991 died it would not hold stable at any res rate under 100mhz any more I sit out on my new monitor quest and it was the Dell 2405 :D
I tried the 2005FPW it was to small and made me want to pan the screen, The Dell 2001fp was nice also but not quite there. The Viewsonic...
No thenixhex311 that coupon will not work because the monitor retails over the $1000.00
limit. Dell goes buy the regular price not the final price on coupons. You can buy stackable coupons of Ebay that will work for .99 cents
Best thing to do is call Dell find the right sales guy and get...
LOL I only got one but it came today and I love it. :). I did get a $100 consession coupon on it though because UPS was late in the delivery plus free overnight shipping since it took 2 days they credited my shipping also. I can live with tha :)
Now this is more like it. Its almost like...
This is what Im doing. I just want to know a couple things I loved the little widescreen 20 inch, but it kind of felt like a wide 17 inch screen to me. So it made me want to pan the screen to much.
Also Will a geforce 6800ultra do ok with this bigger Dell screen for a while? Thanks guys.
After camping out on the outlet I was able to get a i9300 with the geforce 6800 card and WUXA 17 inch screen. For just around a $1000.00. Plus it had a full copy of Paint Shop Pro which I had planed on buying before the holidays any way, and I got a $75.00 consession coupon because they forgot...
If you can get the Dell 2405FP for $700 buy it heck buy 2 or 3. If not the Dell 2001FP is ok if its $460.00 or less anything more your getting a little pricey because of its tech age the monitor has been around for a while.
Some CRTS response times are rated as high as 3ms the Dell 21 inch Sony is.
I would say with 16ms LCD your about in the 50 to 50% range that its ghosting bluring would bother you.
12ms you would have about a 15% range that it would bother you.
8ms it might be about 5% that you would...
Oh I just wanted to point this out again It seems to be a problem with Counter Strike not LCD vs CRT. Now you die hards may go on fighting the great LCD vs CRT War of 2005 forever again.

I wish they would just lock the CRT VS LCD threads...
Viewsonic VX924 I have this one. I went though 3 Dells before this one its perfect for me no bluring no ghosting great picture just adjust the contrast a little.
Also no dead pixs or backlighting problems. But this is just my opinion on this monitor I got.
Hmmm lets see you can buy an LCD or you can buy a CRT.
Can't we just let people make up their on minds unless they just ask for help instead of posting this one is better then that one thread every other day.
Lets not Highjack this thread over something that can be solved in a thread already dealing with this. Go to that thread and back it up with proof.
Any way I have done told the poster my honset opinon. The Dell will ghost blur and tear at times.
The 8ms VP191b gets great reviews all away...
So how does this work. You up your refresh rate on an LCD this in turn lowers your 12ms response time?
If this is really true then way did Dell not just do this at the factory and say that the 20 inch widescreen is 8ms Monitor. Im not trying to flame anyone Im just looking for something to...
Sorry Duck that was the first beta panel of the VX924. The revision is the real deal and its the only one for sale now.
IF Tom can not update his reviews when he is using a prototype. Maybe they will not send him any more. :D
Prototype review of VX924
The Version thats on sale of...
I would go with the Dell since you can get it for about $380 almost ever 6 weeks.
I had one its a wonderful monitor. Mine was almost perfect for the 20 widescreen no dead pixels and just a small backlight problem on the left bottom side. It can have ghosting on some games people that say it...
