"The SPDIF connection does not support uncompressed audio formats like Dolby True HD and DTS master. It supports the following formats: PCM 2Channel, LPCM 5.1, Dolby 2.0, Dolby Digital 5.1, and DTS 5.1"
Heh, SPDiF is enough bandwidth for 7.1 not 2.0. You have to do HDMI for for atmos. Edit: Yes it has to be compressed via DD or DTS but pro logic or pro logic II extrapolates surround info from uncompressed 2.0 and gives you 5/6/7.1 quite well on PCM. The surround on my games works just fine...
Me, I run the SPDiF (optical) out from my board into a surround sound receiver (in my case Denon AVR3808) and let it do the heavy lifting. I had to resort to this setup due to a jerk in my neighborhood running a 400W linear on his CB and bleeding through my old analog PC speaker system.
I'm looking for an i7 4790K. Doesn't need to be a stellar overclocker, the highest I'll be hoping to hit with it is possibly 4.3Ghz if that. I just don't feel like spending as much as they're going for on fleabay since I'm just wanting to do an incremental upgrade on a PC I won't be using a...
I've been around, lurking in the shadows. I'm not saying I'm Batman but you'll never see us both in the same room at the same time...
Actually I changed jobs a while ago and now I barely have time to think.
ASUS RMA is a joke. Last time I sent a motherboard in for RMA I got a replacement that had a dead dimm slot and USB header. The dimm slot was overlookable as I really didn't need to use it but the USB header was for their wireless card and negated the whole point of my mobo being a "wireless"...
He's potentially exposed the private information of millions of TalkTalk users. How about a class action suit in their behalf against him and his parents. After all, it's good enough for him when he's the injured party.
Do you honestly think M$ can update an app without issue when they can't update their OS's without issue? Whether it's an app from their app store or the core OS itself, the fact remains that I want the ability to manage my PC. Now, if they were willing to subsidize my PC builds I'd be willing...
I guess you missed when M$ rolled out 3 months of updates earlier this year (and in December of last year) that had one broken update each month. Yes, they were removed eventually but if you had auto updates enabled and you were one of the poor saps whose system was affected then the removal...
When you don't have a variable speed control and instead have wide open throttle/full braking, of course an autonomous version that features linear throttle and braking is going to do better. Give me the ability to vary the throttle and I'll be as efficient as the autonomous cars are.
When I said un trekking I just meant that it was mainly set in a stationary location. Granted, Terok Nor was capable of being moved short distances but it wasn't capable of interstellar flight like a starship. To be honest, I was a big fan of the show and never missed an episode.
I've been watching his videos for some time now and the man is a genius with woodworking. He's a tad bit awkward and a bit nerdy but you'd be surprised at the range of stuff he makes. Bandsaws, pantorouters, tablesaws, dust collection systems... all from wood. Dude is epic.
Why do they keep using pleaded? It's plead (rhymes with led). That's like saying I leaded instead of led or lead depending on where you're from.
Still, 16 months seems kind of light. I guess it's because it's in Canada. IMO he should've been tried as an adult and got the full sentence an adult...
Rebadge after rebadge after rebadge followed by over promising and under delivering and they blame a soft market? Add in to that the fact that their CPU offerings are so mature that the AARP sends you plan literature when you buy one and, yeah, you're not going to be making much money.
Why not allow other people to take the tests for the students? After all the point of a test/exam is to see how much knowledge you've accrued on that particular subject and if you're finding the answers after the fact you obviously have none. Ergo, they're as well off allowing a person with the...
Developed by Xerox? If you don't have the required number of passengers will it copy you so you do? If so I'm going to hit the carpool lane right now and let my copy can go to work in my place.
Those were my exact thoughts when I heard that tidbit. Sadly it appears true as the water cooling gear at my local Micro Center just keeps dwindling away and not getting restocked.
Unfortunately, Micro Center was being supplied water cooling gear by FrozenCPU. Now that Frozen has gone belly up the variety at Micro Center is dwindling. Hopefully they find a new distribution source soon.
It's a work in progress. 4690K, ASUS Z97 Pro Wi-Fi, 8 gigs of DDR3 1866 G-Skill, SLI GTX 760's, 256GB Crucial SSD, dual loops with a Swiftech MCP35X on the GPU loop feeding parallel MCW82's and cooled by a Black Ice Nemesis 240 GTS and the CPU loop has a Swiftech Apogee Drive II also cooled by a...
That's my HAF XB EVO. I'm running a Feser 240mm X-Changer rad in the front, a Black Ice Pro X-Flow single 120mm rad in the back and for the pump/waterblock on the CPU I've got a Swiftech Apogee Drive II which is cooling an FX 8320e running at 4.6Ghz @ 1.416V. The GPU's are paralleled in the loop...
I've had tinnitus for years. That said I went to the linked site and tried their test music and OMG, that shit sounded horrific. I'd rather never listen to music again.
