Something similar happened to my Samsung CD-RW/DVD combo. all i had to do was to hit hard right below the cd loading tray. It used to open up. This was a couple of years ago, and the drive still works but i have to punch every time i eject the disc.

Well... I think that too. but even if i pull off my card, i cant to boot the machine. I think the onboard is disabled or something. How can i enable the onboard without accessing the BIOS screen. This is an old machine so theres no automatic switching of any sort. I even tried resetting the BIOS.

Dude, did you check the hardware acceleration slider. Its in the display properties>settings>advanced>trouble shoot tab. Make sure its pushed all the way to the right. and make sure you have write combining enabled(i donno what it does. thats the way it is on my pc)
