FYI - this was the exact monitor I upgraded from. Night and day difference - if you can afford it (both $ and space), do it and then you can send me $$ as a thank you :)
BTW - I sit about 3.5ft away from the screen and don't have any issues.
Noob question but how does one install this?
NVM - seems like these instructions should work - https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/updating-firmware-tv-CT10000018-1430510575535
You realize this is the CX forum right? You get all our hopes up until you realize it has nothing to do w/ the tv that's the focus of this thread - lol!
We're really nitpicking. I for one cannot say any raised-gamma issue but I have no idea what I'm looking for nor am I going to go hunt for it. The Gsync stutter only happens for me in COD MW and I just used a fixed refresh rate setting vs gsync and I can't really tell too much. The clarity...
Logically speaking unchecking it just disables the gsync setting which makes things smooth. I don't see how this is a fix for stutter with Gsync? It just takes gssync out of the picture.
How are you guys managing powering the monitor on and off? I'm used to never touching the power button on my past monitors. If the computer is on and idle, screens turn off (sleep mode) after X minutes. If I turn off the computer, the screens go in standby mode. When resuming from either...
Also note that when people say they don't notice stutter, they're either they're not playing fast paced FPS type games, they're eyes just can't tell, or they're in denial. I've done every combination w/ my 3080, Zeskit cable, and CX.
Oofff just tried COD MW with the setup (CX48 & 3080) and frames all over the place 81-110 and stuttering like crazy which made it unplayable (4k120, 444, 10b). Guess same issue as all the others...
I still don't understand why it keeps going from clean no scaling factor to red txt saying I'm using a custom scaling factor and the txt starts to get blurry. Something in the startup causes that - nvcp?
This is what I'm running:
Picture mode - Game
Oled Light 100, Contrast 100, Brightness 60, Sharpness 5, Color 55, Tint 0, Dynamic Contrast Low, Dynamic Tone Mapping Off, Super Res Off, Color Gamut Auto, White Balance Warm 1
In Picture Options, I seem to like Black Level High
Energy Saving Off...
Man coming from years of LCD use to OLED, i'm not sure how I feel about everything looking so dark and blackish, the whites (in explorer and brower windows) seem subdued. And I've got the brightness turned up to like 80! Does it just take a while to get use to?
Just go my CX48 and it's defaulting to 350% in the "change the size of text, apps, and other items." At this scaling, txt is super sharp but way too big. However, if I drop it down to anything less, I can start to notices some fuzziness around the txt. What is everyone running at?
Nicepants42 - thanks so much for such a great write up. I will certainly follow this. I just realized there's going to be a larger version of my case being released in a month or so. In that case, I might go w/ that case so I can afford larger radiators. I also think I'm going to wait for black...
Hi Guys,
First time to water cooling and been searching quite a bit and this is what I've come down to and looking for some feedback.
Current setup:
Case - Lian Li pc-011 dynamic
CPU - 9700K
GPU - EVGA 2080TI FTW3 Hybrid Ultra Gaming
Both the CPU and GPU are currently overclocked pretty...
Having a situation with my 9700K w/ my Aorus Pro motherboard I'm hoping I can get some perspectives on. So I've gotten my 5ghz (@1.35v) OC to pass 1) Prime95 (non-AVX) overnight, 2) TimeSpy Stress Test for 3dmark (EVGA Hybrid FTW3 2080ti OC'd), and 3) mem test for 8 hours (corsair ballistix...
