Feeling lost in what to do and where to go.

Web jobs can be fairly easy to find, but you have to be cautious of "unicorn" positions. The unfortunate reality of entry level positions in web development is most of them are going to make you wear a lot of different hats. On the one hand, this can be a great learning experience, but on the...

Battlefield 4 Game Play Video Is Up!

I'm reserving my decision until I see some MP footage and hear about what changes (if any) will be made there. I have never bought a BF game for the single player campaign, and I'm not about to start now. In-game VOIP. Larger squads. Commander. If those are included and implemented...

    Ikea desk gallery

Thanks for the info. I have the desk with the high supports and upper shelf, along with the primary working space. This one here. Different color obviously. No other attachments for it. Living in Pittsburgh PA. My reason for selling is that I bought a Galant a few months ago and just...

Selling my old Jerker (black/gray). Great condition. For all of you Jerker fans, what should I price this thing at on Craigslist? Nobody in my area has one listed, so I can't find any comparables. Yeah, I know this is an odd thread to ask this question. :p

Really enjoying AK thus far. New maps are fun (though I'm not crazy about the winter one) and so are the vehicles. Love sitting in the mobile AA on Bandar Desert. Absolute ownage. :D

Takes about 30 seconds to join a game on my machine (2500K based). Not sure I'd classify that as "ridiculous" by any means. Not to mention the real bonus is that I can surf around Battlelog and check my stats and assignments while the game is loading. Sure beats twiddling my thumbs while I...

I don't think the unlocks are too difficult, I just think they're tedious for what you get in return. I'm no weapons expert, but I imagine there are some cool attachments out there that aren't standard in BF3. Why not add something along those lines? Hell, give me a set of binoculars for the...

    Battlefield 4

I'll wait and see what happens with BF4 before jumping to any conclusions. Thus far I've enjoyed Close Quarters and B2K. The former adds a nice fit for the gameplay if I want a CoD-esque experience. The achievements are nice as well. Prefer most of the weapons in CQ to those in the original...

Do you like suppression in BF3?

When using proper teamwork, getting points for suppressing the enemy while your team wipes them out is great. The blurred vision when getting shot at is fine. Everything else about it is garbage. Apparently, DICE has zero idea how to balance a game without fucking something up.

Agreed. I've played some "normal" rounds and they're not much fun. Hardcore is the only way to go, IMO.

The 'new' maps are phenomenal. Never was a huge fan of Sharqi, but the rest are a blast. My jaw literally dropped when I spawned on Wake the first time and got a panoramic view of the mayhem. Just flat out amazing. Folks shouldn't get excited about the unlocks being necessary to be...

There's really only so much a DICE can do to encourage team play. I'm not saying they did a great job on that front, I certainly think they fell short in several areas, but when you're aiming to take a chunk out of the COD market, you're bound to end up with a lot of run-and-gun retards running...

The only thing that has really bugged me a few times is when I go in to customize my load out, and no matter where I spawned previously, clicking "deploy" while still on the load out screen will stick me back at the main base. However, if I back out of the menu and back to the spawn screen and...

    Gaming Headphones

Hmm, if that's the case, that might be a little more than I'm looking for. I'm not going to be listening to very much music with these, more so just some extended gaming sessions. Out of the box are they a good set for gaming, or am I better off elsewhere?

    Gaming Headphones

Thinking about picking up a pair of Fostex T50RP's for gaming, though I see a lot of recommendations on head-fi to add an amp for optimal sound. I'm really not much of an audiophile, so has anyone had any experience with these for gaming sans-amp?

I don't have as much of an issue avoiding them when I'm in the air, it's when I'm taking off and the AA is hitting me from across the map that I start to get frustrated. BF2 had a limited range on the AA, it seems that they've increased that range exponentially in BF3.
  23. T

Yeah that's what I've been trying to do, but since the mobile AA has two rockets per reload, it's pretty useless.

Played 2 1/2 hours last night and was able to level up to Lance CPL (5). Had an absolute blast with the game. No major bugs that other people seem to be experiencing, though I did have the occasional rubber banding issue in a couple servers as well as the green flicker now and then. The...

    Battlefield 3 General Discussion Thread

Rush isn't something that was around for BF2, so naturally it's going to feel more like Bad Company because that's where it was "pioneered" essentially. By almost all accounts, conquest feels far more "BF2-like" than Metro does. Personally, I'm a fan of both modes, so I applaud Dice for...

I really have no idea why people hate the web-based menu so much. It's fast, simple, and allows you to do other things while waiting for a server to open up without having to alt-tab. If you're whinging about how unintuitive it is, I have to wonder if Battlelog is your first experience on the...

    Battlefield 3 - Official Thread

So far I've logged about 3 hours and I'm not sure what people are so upset about. The game feels pretty balanced provided that the teams aren't entirely lopsided in terms of skill. I've been on teams that were able to do very well on defense as well as attack. Though I've seen a couple...

Just so we're clear; you realize that you're mockingly waiting to see the effects of what I'm talking about by arguing with people who are complaining as a direct result of what I'm talking about, correct? I mean, nobody can really be that dense, can they?

From a Marketing standpoint, saying "September" and then delivering on the 2nd to last day of the month would hardly be considered a "win." I understand why they stuck to it, but I can't imagine this was the goal from the start. Saying "October" and delivering on the 1st would have been far...

    Project Reality: Arma 2

Agreed. I had a lot of fun playing PR:BF2 despite the fact that it's slow on occasion. However, the amount of teamwork involved can make for some very exciting situations. Driving in a convoy down a road, getting ambushed, fighting your way out to create a perimeter, and then calling in an...

Finishing touches on a new build

Put it all together last night and it fired right up without issue. Only problems I ran into were that the Hyper 212+ was too high for the mobo tray to slide back into the case. I had to remove the brace on that corner (thank god it was screwed in and not riveted) and it cleared it. It sits...

Thanks for the feedback. I'll grab that mobo instead. For some reason I thought the 65 was the only one with Firewire support. Looks like if I buy the mobo on Newegg and the 2500k at Microcenter, I'll save some money; even with the combo pricing. Much appreciated. :)
