Thanks! After rebuilding my v5 dozens of times over the past year, I feel like I was well prepared for my v6 rebuild, haha. PSU cables are unsleeved custom lengths. Main specs are 9900k + 2080 Ti.
I tested aio + exhaust vs. intake GPU. The difference is IMHO negligible:
I think it's more of an issue if you're running a cpu heatsink that pulls air directly from the inside of the chassis. My aio radiator pulls cool air directly from the side vents.
That said, there are some non-thermal...
Given these findings, I'm thinking about trying the following setup:
Corsair h100i Pro w/ 2xA12x25 as intake.
Morpheus II w/ 2xA12x15 as intake.
A9x14 as chassis exhaust.
Am I shooting myself in the foot here? I'm currently running with the Morpheus II in exhaust configuration (per...
I have both DDR3 and a SATA SSD listed for sale:

HMU and maybe we can do a bundle deal.
Awesome testing. Any chance you might have some time to add 240mm AIO results to that chart? I think it would be interesting to see how a 240mm AIO (with two Noctua 120mm fans) stacks up against air cooling and lay the argument to rest once and for all (at least from a purely thermal performance...
Running BFV with my 9900K and 2080 Ti overclocked and at full TDP, I can't really hear fan noise from either. They're both pretty quiet. The major improvement is coil whine IMHO.
Ended up settling on the SGX-650. It fits perfectly with my 2080 Ti XC Ultra. The cables are flexible and, even without the intake fans, there was no sagging or pressure on my GPU.
No coil whine issues either. I had really bad coil whine with one SF600 Platinum and 2x EVGA 650 GM units. Very...
This is with a custom fan curve in EVGA Precision X1. The fans also do make some noise when stopping and starting, so I also fix them at 20% duty until around 60C. That's about 600 RPM or so which is effectively silent (especially with no clicking!)
I'm going to try the 2080 Ti XC Ultra + 2x Noctua NF A12x15mm intake by EOW. FWIW my 2080 Ti XC Ultra WITHOUT extra fans hits peak 80C with 130 power, +110 core, +770 memory with fans sitting at 1500~1600 RPM in my NCase. Noise levels are fine IMHO.
Great read, thanks. I also found a redditor claiming much better performance in this configuration for both their 2080 Ti XC Ultra and high TDP CPU. I'm running a very similar build, so I think I'll order the fans and try this out.
Has anyone with a THICC GPU like the 2080 Ti XC Ultra tried removing the shroud and adding 120x15mm fans in exhaust to the bottom of the case? I believe that the 120x15mm fans would clear the soldered fan mounting tabs. I just wonder, however, if the fans in exhaust would be able to effectively...
