Microsoft Finally Says Goodbye to Windows Vista

I think I'm the entire of the .72% as I still have 6 Vista systems - 3 are laptops too old to upgrade even if I wanted too, which I don't. I've run it since launch day without any issues whatsoever. It's still my favorite Windows, I think it's much better laid out better then 7, 8 or 10.

Epic Uptime Achievement: Can You Beat 16 Years?

that's sweet. Best I've ever had was a windows NT 4.0 server running on a P2 Dell that had an uptime of 3 years, 7 months and 10 days before coming down for the last time to get replaced.

Just How Much Do People Hate Windows 8?

Just like the vocal minority hates 8 mainly due to the UI, the "problems" with vista was OEM's installing it on systems with 512mb of ram...in other words nothing to do with the o/s itself. Vista is my personal favorite, I use it over both 7 or 8, and have used it since launch day.

Hapless Vista Turns 6, Shuffles Toward Obscurity

I've used Vista since day one without a single issue that wasn't caused by bad hardware. I upgraded from MCE2005 to Vista HP on release day and never looked back. It's been running my DVR flawlessly. It's still my favorite and I put it on all the systems I use..on purpose.

Biggest Tech Failures of The Last 10+ Years

Wow completely crap list. More accurate would be "marketing failures" not "tech" failures. -Vista. After reading comments here and elsewhere, plus lots of anecdotal stories, it seems to me that Vista is actually well-liked among tech-savvy people. I personally have 4 of my computers with...

I've had cable internet since October of 1999, with several different companies over that time. I've even had a tech show up early one Sunday to fix...

Clueless Consumers Favor 15" Notebooks, Ruining Market

I'm just really tired of resolution-elitism. I've been rolling my eyes for years at people that say you're stupid for buying a 15" with anything less then 1900x1200 resolution. Guess what? It's a matter of personal preference. I can't stand a 15" with anything more then 1280x800. I...

Desktop PC Platform: Saved By Overclocking

The reality is the desktop isn't going anywhere for a while. Why? Because most people who are over the age of 30 don't want to be connected all the time, or even consider a computer all that important. I deal with them every day. Heck, my mother-in-law refuses to even own a cell phone...

Windows 7 Will Run up to 120 Days for Free

Both Vista and 7 absolutely have trial periods. You can run the setup and simply not put in a product key at all and that will give you the 30 day trial with which you can then use the -rearm command for the full 120 day trial (90 days on vista if I remember correctly).
