I think I'm the entire of the .72% as I still have 6 Vista systems - 3 are laptops too old to upgrade even if I wanted too, which I don't. I've run it since launch day without any issues whatsoever. It's still my favorite Windows, I think it's much better laid out better then 7, 8 or 10.
that's sweet.
Best I've ever had was a windows NT 4.0 server running on a P2 Dell that had an uptime of 3 years, 7 months and 10 days before coming down for the last time to get replaced.
Just like the vocal minority hates 8 mainly due to the UI, the "problems" with vista was OEM's installing it on systems with 512mb of ram...in other words nothing to do with the o/s itself.
Vista is my personal favorite, I use it over both 7 or 8, and have used it since launch day.
I've used Vista since day one without a single issue that wasn't caused by bad hardware.
I upgraded from MCE2005 to Vista HP on release day and never looked back. It's been running my DVR flawlessly.
It's still my favorite and I put it on all the systems I use..on purpose.
Wow completely crap list.
More accurate would be "marketing failures" not "tech" failures.
-Vista. After reading comments here and elsewhere, plus lots of anecdotal stories, it seems to me that Vista is actually well-liked among tech-savvy people. I personally have 4 of my computers with...
I've had cable internet since October of 1999, with several different companies over that time. I've had only 1 major outage in that time and it was resolved in less then 24 hours, tech was on time and didn't even have to come in to fix it. I've even had a tech show up early one Sunday to fix...
Next step: real time. If that happens..er scary stuff ..not able to trust anything you see on video or pictures. Easily frame someone by putting their face on surveillance camera footage. or pull a Running Man thing..
lol I have dozens of pics like that or worse.
My favorites though are the restaurant surveillance systems that are kept near or in the kitchen area..computers should not smell (and feel) like 2 year old french fries..
I'm just really tired of resolution-elitism. I've been rolling my eyes for years at people that say you're stupid for buying a 15" with anything less then 1900x1200 resolution.
Guess what? It's a matter of personal preference.
I can't stand a 15" with anything more then 1280x800. I...
The reality is the desktop isn't going anywhere for a while. Why? Because most people who are over the age of 30 don't want to be connected all the time, or even consider a computer all that important. I deal with them every day. Heck, my mother-in-law refuses to even own a cell phone...
Considering how many customers I have that can't even copy and paste a license number from an email to another program, there are A LOT of people that either can't or simply refuse to learn how to do anything new...
Those are not "concerned citizens". People like that are ultra-radical religious nuts who will not rest until everyone else is forced, by law, to live under their rules and morals.
It's not illiteracy, it's that the language is evolving, changing. Normally such changes are very slow, but the speed of modern society means we can see these changes happening in real time, right before our eyes. If it's too l33t, you're too old.
yes, the lama and religious class were always oppressive dictators in Tibet. This particular lama wasn't in power long enough and may actually support what he says, but I doubt it.
Tibet has been a theocracy for a long time, with the ordinary people little more then midevil surfs providing...
Why would anyone want to share space with someone that lacks the ability to speak basic English? Even as joke it's stupid, not funny and seriously pathetic.
Both Vista and 7 absolutely have trial periods. You can run the setup and simply not put in a product key at all and that will give you the 30 day trial with which you can then use the -rearm command for the full 120 day trial (90 days on vista if I remember correctly).
YMMV
I can't stand Anti-vir. I have installed on my work pc so I can get daily updates I put on a BartPE disk for my virus scans. It is constantly finding false positives and I have a huge exception list just so it can finish it's daily scan.
I have avg free on all my home pc's and never...
