The weight wouldnt bother me- I think what would suck is the high CG. that thing has to swing back and forth like a mofo.. Much of the trick in packing is getting the heavy stuff as far down in the pack as possible (close to the hips) to keep your CG relatively normal.... no way to do that...

My parents are STILL rocking that exact laptop. It actually runs (windows 7 starter) pretty decently for basic web browsing etc as long as you don't load it up with tabs. I've seriously thought about throwing a $50 SSD and a 1GB of RAM upgrade in it, probably be just fine!

I think you'd want to enclose it and filter the intake, with that much surface area you wouldn't need much air movement.

FYI - most of our customers ATM's DO INDEED run WINXP. The ATM sits on its own network, with a pretty serious Firewall...but its XP.

To be fair, most of the costs associated with a workstation are in the support and maintenance and not so much the initial purchase cost. I can see $5k easily. That said, there is some support and maintenance of chromebooks too....

I can confirm this - very much the case especially with small banks. I think most Wellsfargo's ATM's are Win7 because I caught one in a boot loop once :p

Can it be used it in conjunction with a password or pin, as opposed to the only credential? MFA style... Then it is a very secure addition to local or Web Auth.

Hey guys, Looking to pick up a A85x board, but I have specific raid needs. I'd like to run 2x128 ssd for os and apps and 2x2tb HDDs in Raid for data. Does the A85x support multiple arrays on its built in controller or do I have to pick up a PCIe card to supplement?
