I would have purchased the 1100 for a little better OC maybe. But my 1090 is stable at 1.42 V and 3.7ghz. Any more, and I have to jack up the volts which is kinda silly for 24/7. I would gain 300mhz at 1.52 volts for 4ghz. No thanks.
Seriously, some of you guys need to get a life.
What did you think BD was going to 8ghz on air or something? Bulldozer is 32mm and 2500K is 32mm. Both the same "generation" chip. AMD operates on a fraction of Intel R&D. We buy AMD because they are not intel, they are the...
You understand the only reason we have Sandy Bridge in 2011 is the competition AMD brings to the market?
Seriously, the best today might be Core Duos priced $500 per chip without competition in the market.
Supporting AMD brings better products, faster and cheaper to the market...
1090t IS AWESOME; I'm at 3.8Ghz @ 1.425 volts and less than 41 C.
why run faster? over 4ghz is OK with 1.5 volts and less than 45 C.
See board below. Plus, Asus sends rebates FAST
I'm at 1.425 V; max 40 degrees C under 100% load 3.8 ghz
What power saving features can I enable?
Fans, CPU, HDs?
What NOT to do?
I have the MB below. Its an Asus AM3 790X
my 1090 runs at 22 Celsius at idle 69 degrees room temperature. With 1.5 volts and 4.1 ghz, I have never seen it over 45 degrees with a Corsair H50 water setup. Your temps are very high. No grease or improperly installed Corsair?
My 1090T runs idle at 21 C and with 1.475 volts at 3920 max 41 C with a Corsair H50. At 1.5 volts I can hit 4ghz easy and 4.1 to 4.2 @ 1.55 volts. Temps never go above 45 degrees C.
I have a 6870 and it crashes at startup as well; sometimes 5 minutes into the game
I couldn't use the latest version of CCC; it wouldn't let me enter Overdrive
According to CPU-Z, the CPU voltage seems to drift as much as .10-.12 volt when my BIOS Voltage is set manually or auto.
I'm wondering if this is adding to system stability, especially overclocking.
Is the only accurate voltage numbers read in the BIOS? They seem much more stable...
Used 1.5 weeks, near new in the original black box
Purchased from Newegg on February 24, 2011 (I have the invoice). Part of new build I just finished last week.
I couldn't get the 3rd or 4th core to unlock and I upgraded today to a 4 core.
While I can't guarantee you the same results, its...
when they were being sold, how much was a decent, low-mid-range board selling for?
I'm trying to do a cost analysis on the Sandy Bridge versus the AMD X4s and X6s Phenon IIs.
I can get a decent AM3 board right now for $80.
Will the new 1155 MBs be double?
Thanks
UP????????
If I install a Radeon 5870 in the system below?
I play Call of Duty 4 and nothing more taxing
I'm trying to milk another year out of this system, and still use the card in a new build next year.
THANKS!!!

I understand there are some drivers not available, but when is the "magic" moment to upgrade? I found ATI has 64 bit drivers but did not look any further........
Ive been running my Venice now 24/7 at 2700 (9X300) with the ram at 245 stable as heck 1.55 volts for a month. Its passed both memtest 86 and Prime 95 for 12 hours. Temps are near stock idle, about 10c over at load.
