I'm a big fan of formatting/reinstalling after any major hardware change. XP is pretty good at dealing with new hardware configurations, but it's still Microsoft we're talking about here.

I've noticed that with the power button the Z-5500 control pod, I usually have to hold the button in for a few seconds to turn the power on or off. On my Z-680 control pod, pressing the power button turns the pod on/off almost instantly. Is my 5500 pod screwed-up or is this normal behavior?

My 4400+ gets barely to 2.4GHz, and that's it. Extra voltage doesn't help. Although odds are that a 4400+ will hit 4800+ speeds, there is always the chance that one could loose the "overclocking lottery" and get a dud.

Well, my DFI NF4 SLI-DR came today and I have to say that so far I am really, really impressed with it.

I have that Corsair kit and I couldn't get it to hit 250. It seems to be really nice RAM otherwise.

LOL. I think the X-RAM will turn out to be next-to-useless for the forseeable future. I mean, if Creative wanted mainstream support for this feature, they should have included it on their mainstream card.

I'd go with the 4800+. I have a 4400+ @ 4800+ speeds and it totally kicks ass in games. I went with a 2X even at the expense of a few FPS that I would have gotten with the FX because dual core is the wave of the future. Besides, with that extra core my system is smooth liek buttah. ;)
