light cpu loads, you wont need to upgrade again anytime soon so no meed to worry if a socket wont be used in the future. in this day and age, its prob rare to just upgrade cpu only due to slow progression. ie five to ten percent improvement gen to gen.
if you've got an gsm phone. maybe check out straight talk.
i think ting requires u to buy a phone from them
if you have a cdma phone esp vzw, try page plus.
yeah those cards might be hard to find since they're also popular for bt mining, used sales, classifieds are your best bet. but why not buy a new current gen card?
i don't over clock and i don't need all the fancy stuff like raid, a bajillion usb/sata ports, more than one pcie x16, so i just buy the cheapest mobos usually around 50-70 dollars, usually matx. i've been doing this for years and never had any mobos fail even after 3+ years...
so i don't...
what does the bsod error code say?
in computer panel, system, advanced, start up and recovery settings, uncheck the auto restart. or find out where the log is saved.
you're right, according to wikipedia
ATX12V v2.1
This is a minor revision from March 2005. The power was slightly increased on all rails. Efficiency requirements changed. Added 6-pin connector for PCIe graphics cards that aids the PCIe slot in the motherboard, delivering 75 watts.

fyi,
doesn't sound like you need a gtx680 for what you're doing.
what traffic goes from pci-e bus to gfx card and vice versa?
one of course is the render target (eg what you see)
so screen resolution * bits per pixel * frames per second?
eg. 1920x1080 * 32bpp * 100 fps = .77 GB/s
i dunno. just a guess. you shouldn't really worry too much about...
who said anything about putting the gfx into a non x16 slot? or who said anything about even using a x16 gfx card?
anyways, you put a x1 card into a non x1 slot b/c your mobo has no x1 slots.
of course it's not using the full bw potential of the slot but it doesn't matter.
and gfx using...
what weird errors? probally a slow hdd causing your slow load times. probally a ssd would be good for you.
1. the ps is more than enough for your hardware. there's nothing to indicate the ps as an issue here...
2. what do you mean it died off? just stopped working completely?
3. you need...
what are you looking to get out of an upgrade? i'm assuming you don't have stability issues and your current psu can handle everything okay.
ssd is always a good upgrade from tradational hdd
there's not much really else that will give significant performance benefits, unless you want to...
cpu - get the i7-3770K if you don't mind spending an extra $100. otherwise get the i-5-3570K. it's like a i7-2600k vs i5-2500k in terms of performance difference.
mobo - you need sli i'm guessing, any other requirements? z75/77 if you want to overclock. if not, then you can probally be...
what's your average load?
most of the 80PLUS gold/silver/bronze etc, are pretty quiet. but if you're hitting 70% or more load, you'll start to hear fan noise.
so if you have a high load and still want to keep quiet, then aim for a PSU with a higher wattage rating.
