Good AGP cards are hard to find.. I'm not really sure why.. but they are very few in numbers. There are so many AGP systems out there, they could probably sell a ton of them if they wanted to. I have a BFG GeForce 7800gs AGP graphics card and it has done wonders. I can play fear, quake 4...
I recommend a 7800 gs.. this is a great card.. I have one and have had no problems with it.. you can find it at newegg.com. it is really great.. I am plyaing bf2, quake 4, fear.. etc.. all at high setting with good performance. get one of these cards!! it only costs about $300 but if you...
as far as i know.. the 7600gt is not available for agp systems.. I recommend a 6800gs graphics card.. this one is REALLY good. will run all old and new games like half life 2, doom 3, etc...
you have to use dvd players that came with your dvd rom. this is because there are specific decoders that are needed.. look through your discs that came with your computer for the appropriate software.
I recommend the samsung 225BW.. it is a 22" widescreen LCD.. and as far as 1080p goes.. 1080p menas 1080 lines of verticle resolution.. this monitor comes pretty darn close at 1680x1050 lines of resolution... I am sure you could use this monitor as well as anything else... 1080p is not even used...
dude.. get an LCD.. they are waaaayyy better than CRTs. even for gaming.. my samsung LCD has an 8 ms reponse time which has no ghosting or any of that other crap you mentioned... don't buy a new CRT... you will hate yourself if you do. LCDs are great for gaming.. I recommend the samsung 730b...
I don't know what exactly your problem is.. are you sure you have it plugged in nice and tight and your power cable connected? and you have a 400 watt psu? That's all I can think of...
I have a BFG 7800 GS and it works great.. I don't know what the problem you are having is but the BFG card I ave works great.. and it's agp just like yours. You might have a bad motherboard.. I recommend you buy a new one.. you should be able to use your old agp card.. but it is risky.. your...
you don't need sli. all the games out now.. including quake 4, fear, hl2 episode 1, etc.. will run fine with one good graphics card. you need to get a 7600gt or better. that way you can run all the new games. i am not worried about vista. i think that when it becomes available then it is...
well here's what i think. i had a nvidia riva 128 back in 1997. which ran alot of new 3d games like need for speed and quake 2. then in 1999 i bought a geforce 4600 which ran all the new games like enclave and even ut2004. then just recently i bought a 7800 gs. which runs all the new games...
i don't think you should upgrade at this point. your 2 6600's should do just fine for most games. is there a particular game you are not getting good performance with? i would like to know which one. i have one 7800gs and it runs everything. you should wait a while... maybe when the prices...
The best AGP card I can recommend to you is the ATI Radeon X800PRO. This card has worked great for me. I have a pentium 4 3.0 ghz cpu and it has done very well. I played alot of battlefield 2 with this card (and I will show some benchmarks) and it looks incredible. You could get a geforce...
I am using 5.7 right now, and I have no problems. bf2 runs great. I'm just worried that the new drivers will stop bf2 from working. Any issues with bf2?
I have an agp motherboard so I am kinda stuck with it. I am certainly not going to spend another $800 on a new computer just to get pci-e! That would be a waste of money. I think alot of people have agp slots and would like to upgrade to a new video card. That's the whole point of having...
I play alot of battlefield 2 and I want to get fear. My video card doesn't run too good at 1280x1024 (which is the native res of my lcd) so I run it at 1024x768. It doesn't look too bad. and the fear demo looks incredible. I will definitely be getting that. Anyone have any tips on running...
you can get a 20" for less than that. and I dunno about you, but i think that is just too big. I dunno where you are going to put it, but on my desk my 17" looks big enough.
I was in the same situation. had an old nec monitor and it was the worst piece of crap you have ever seen. Now I have a samsung flat panel. It is really nice. 8 ms response time so no ghosting, no dead pixels. very nice monitor.
I would say the x800pro is the way to go. I have an asus motherboard with agp and I bought a ati x800pro agp video card and it is fantastic. It runs battlefield 2 very nicely. And I just bought a samsung 17" lcd monitor and it looks GREAT. I highly recommend the x800pro. it is going for...
you need an x800 video card. AGP or pci-e. Doesn't really matter. These cards are going to play all the new games coming out this year. And with the unreal 3.0 engine they're working on, you will need the extra video power.
I don't think so. I was playing doom 3 at 1024x768 with my geforce 6600gt and it looked great. To me, 640x480 is low res, 800x600 medium, and 1024x768 is high res. 1600x1200 is ultra high. 1024x768 looks great to me. I guess it's just a matter of opinion.
