If portability is a concern at all I'd vote for one of the models Aurelius mentioned, or a 2013 Nexus 7. I've had two of them now and they're a good balance of size and portability, cheap, and run the latest Android.
Received my E243WMi today and it's a solid upgrade from my EA231WMi. It weighs about half as much, it's a lot brighter thanks to the LED backlighting and the pixel response time is noticeably faster.

I just got shipping confirmation for an E243WMi 24". Feeling very lucky. My theory is that they followed through on more of the orders that got stuck paying for shipping than those with free shipping.
I don't think that guide is 100% accurate for the 950 pro since it isn't written for an NVMe drive. That's probably why you are running into issues with that particular setting.
The smaller sizes are also on sale, I ended up going with a 250GB from Amazon. Can't wait to migrate my server's boot drive from an old WD Black to this thing.
