its bloody annoying. I use technet in order to test products I end up deploying and supporting for customers. I'm looking at the Microsoft Partner Program and Action Pack subscriptions. But it doesn't have licenses for older OS's and lots of my customers use, xp, win7, win2k3 etc.
meh. Got my H50 and installation went a dream until I tried to put my side panel back on. The one with the 200mm fan. The fan itself is far enough away but has a surround over the edge which interferes with the radiator by about 2mm which just prevents the top of the side panel from being...
Okay I went with the H50-1 and also ordered the filter I was talking about to stop dust on the inlet at the rear. Should be delivered tomorrow so will have a go at installing it then. The corsair vid for installation was good.
Thanks for the replies guys, the Megahalems is too tall for the p193 with the case unfortunately. It was actually my first choice.
Just reading about the coolermaster one since i hadnt seen that one.
Getting closer to ordering the H50 tbh. Just got to get over water leak fears!
Will let...
Hi all,
I have the system in my sig and want to upgrade the cpu cooler from stock to allow for some mild overclocking.
I am currently considering the following 2 coolers:
Corsair H50-1 Hydrocooler
Noctua NH-C12P SE14
The P193 wont allow me to have a tower cooler since the side fan...
Try the WoW addon tweakwow. I use it with my i7-860 to enable all the cores. Restart of WoW required afterwards. Before it, I saw 100% usage on core 1. Now i see slightly lower usage but on 4 cores. (its set to 8 in the tool so seems to halve the number you set it too, weird).
It certainly...
Yup I agree. I have the original Scythe Ninja revb on the wifes Q6600 box and i am never shure the bloody things are engaded correctly. Besides... seems a lot of weight hanging off the board.
Has anyone flashed one of the new P55 Gigabyte boards by usb key?
I am considering a TRUE or the Megahalems provided they will fit in my P193. Quick hunt around doesn't show any bolt thru's in the uk yet, but the Scythe Ninja II supports 1156 I see. Anyone using one?
I recently bought a Gigabyte P55-UD5 and I'm waiting for some 1156 socket coolers or bolt thrus to appear on the market in the uk so am using the stock cooler. In the meantime I am trying to flash the bios from the F3 which it came with to the new F5f bios. Any idea how you get this thing to...
Finally got my new machine built (in sig) and Windows 7 installed without issue. However as soon as I installed the Catalyst drivers (latest from ATI site 8.66 RC6) windows boots and the monitor goes straight into Power Save mode as if the frequency is too high or something. I can boot into safe...
in UK the best price is £201.99 GBP Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail

Am hoping to pay less for the middle of the 3 i5 processors they are planning on releasing.
You maybe right Bomber, but Intel are not going to price their new platform out of the market right off the bat. i5 HAS to be cheaper than i7 for it to sell at all. have any boards actually appeared in retail chains yet? Even for preorder?
I'm looking at i5 myself
This is a Beta driver for GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, and 200-series desktop GPUs.

Yup Was thinking this myself 182.06 is the best set i have had for my 8800GTS 512 SLI setup, see no reason to change. DOWII runs nice and smooth in 1920x1200 and so does WoW :-)
Was there a list of SLI profiles changed anywhere?
Just wondering, what provides the option for fan control in nvidia drivers? Because my x64 install has fan control which works great along with the profile under the 'devices' tab i think it is. However on my x86 install which i use for Bluray playback I have no devices tab and no fan control...
Are these any different to the 181.22 beta's? They've been excellent for me so far. Do i need to change or is the WHQL certification the only change?
Thanks guys
Well I didnt notice any immediate differences in frame rate. But being WoW it does tend to swing quite a bit anyway. Say from 40's in shat to over 100 out in Hellfire penn.
These are definitely keepers for me.
Image quality is better to the eye (mine anyway) than the previous 18X drivers I have used, as I stated earlier the fan control is now working in the control panel and these are the VERY first set of drivers since I have owned my 8800GTS 512's that...
First set I have tried in ages which actually have working Fan Control in the Nvidia Control Panel. Digital Vibrance works fine and haven't had any issues at all. Only playing WoW, Crysis and Sins at the moment.
It's very strange behaviour. Before I lost the settings in the beta bios I was using my memory worked fine at 1066 with 5, 7, 7, 22, 2T, 54 tRFC with 2.1v Now I cant even change the freq to 800.
As for voltages the only ones I have changed from Auto are the memory voltage to 2.1v which is...
Hi all,
I started to have issues with my machine last week when I had a power cut and the bios reset its settings. I was using an older 1101 beta bios that asus had sent me to solve an issue I was having getting my SLI Ready OCZ 4x1GB modules to 1066 as they are rated so I decided that this...
Well I for one am still planning on staying with Nvidia for the foreseeable future.
The 8800 GTS 512's I own are easily the best cards I have to date and the new 180 drivers ar excellent adding multi screen SLI. Before these I had X1950XTX card and while fast I had no end of problems with...
WoW is life... life is WoW.... Must... play... da.... Death.... knight..... ARRGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

*nods off at work* :D
Ah is that what's cocking up the shadows in WoW. Must try it with SLI disabled sometime.
I have a Q6600 at stock and 8800 GTS 512 SLI and am running 1920x1200 with everything except draw distance and shadows maxed with 2xAA. Both of those dropped by only 1 notch tho.
My frame rate moves...
Got bored at work and thought I'd check:
Link is for Vista 64bit.

At work so I haven't tried em yet.
Just found these on Laptopvideo2 go forum whilst looking for any evidence of the purported November 17th Official 180 driver release:
