As much as I hate to admit it, the iPhone is a great piece of software/hardware. I have the iPhone 4, the second Smartphone I've owned (first was the Tilt from HTC running WinMobile 6.5), and it's really a great interface. The other phones I looked at had a much clunkier interface which was...
I'm having an issue with my P6N SLI where it quits seeing the Sata hard drive (WD brand). I am going to do the usual and upgrade the BIOS and reload Windows but I've had this problem randomly off and on since I got it. Is this a compatibility issue, a NB issue? Usually I have to power it down...
I just installed an ESXi sever running v3.5 update 4 and added two VMs. The VMs are:
Server 2003 R2 - MS Terminal Server - 172.16.3.200
Server 2008 - MS Active Directory - 172.16.2.1
ESXi server - 172.16.10.3
Default Gateway - 172.16.1.1
Other systems on the network - 172.16.3.x and...
We started a VMware migration project at work back in 2007 and are finally seeing the benefits of our work this year. Of course since VMware decided to release ESXi for free we are now evaluating that as a new option. Currently we run all VMware Server VMs and love it. It's nice to hear the [H]...
BTW - does anyone have any good (read: easy) techniques for rolling out the client on XP systems? I have a few I can borge but if there's a way to automate it that'd be great! I'm going to look through the FAQs but thought if someone had a good procedure it might save me some time.
I still have one of those BP6s here too that I can't bring myself to part with. It doesn't run but I like to look at it and remeber the "good old days". :)
Thanks fellas, I appreciate the welcome. It's been too long. I'll try to stay lurking in the forums while I'm stat tracking but my main goal is to get some more horsepower going from as many borgs as I can find.
Glad to see so many old timers still around, that's how you know the project is...
Well boys, I have gained some nice new borgs to get a small ramp going but don't worry there's more coming. I have no clue on total numbers I'll be allowed to utilize but I'll take as many as I can get. That's all for now, I've got to go borg some more. :D
My experience with 2008 has been good as well. If you decide you need to stick with Server 2003 at least go R2. It has a couple of extras that got included that are also in 2008.
Server 2008 is the future so keep in mind you're buying software that will be around for a few years whereas 2003...
I'll tell you what I know from Server 2008.
There's an option called "Desktop Experience" which says "includes features of Windows Vista, such as Windows Media Player, desktop themes, and photo management. Desktop Experience does not enable any of the Windows Vista features; you must manually...
Make sure your power supply is adequate for any new card you choose. Last thing you want to do is spend $250 on the card and then find out you need another $100+ for a PSU to run it.
Just an update in case someone else runs across this problem. The timeout settings and the amount of embryonic connections have serious impact on Pix memory usage. If you are receiving memory allocation errors check both.
To check the number of embryonic connections:
show local-host |...
I second the recommendation for Kiwi Syslog Daemon.
Point your firewall syslog messages to the server running Kiwi and it will log them to files. You can even setup Kiwi to e-mail you when message counts and etc. get too high.
After working with Cisco level 2 engineers we were able to determine we have an excessive amount of embryonic connections. These connections even when idle use a small amount of memory. We changed the timeout settings to clear idle connections and it seems to be running much more smoothly right...
Yes, 7.2.2. The problem started after a power outage we experienced and thinking that the hardware memory might have been hosed I had it replaced. The problem still exists.
The config hadn't changed much significantly since the 7.2.2 update back in November to when this started.
Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. The specific error is "Memory Allocation Error". Basically it runs out of memory and can't build any new connections and crashes [H]ard.
I got the OID and am now successfully monitoring the memory stats with a threshold alert. I just got done testing it and that is...
There isn't a seperate Outlook patch, the Windows XP or Server 2003 patch affects Outlook. Outlook is affected by the problem specifically when Exchange 2000/2003 is involved and it has to be patched as well.
I run a WSUS server so I just approved the update for install on our Windows 2003 and XP systems. If you only have a few you can always just run the update manually.
Windows XP | Server 2003
The two bigest pieces are the Exchange and Outlook since they interact with each other with time/date...
Looking for some advice from any Pix experts out there. I have a pair of Pix 515e that are driving me nuts. At random intervals the memory usage will spike and keep climbing until it completely runs out of memory (128MB total) and starts throwing "memory allocation errors". I originally noticed...
There are hundreds of settings that determine video and audio quality which produce the longer/shorter encode times. If you want to encode a movie with full quality and etc. it takes a lot longer than creating a 600MB file.
I used dual CPU computers for years back in the day when I'd run...
Yeah, this all happens right before your [H]orde Rewards program. Friggin nice Moose, nice. ;)
I appreciate the well wishes. Maybe I can get a job @google and borg them?
No joke, that man has some borg. I don't believe anything will be for sale for a while but it's too early to say anything at this point.
If I'm put in charge of selling anything I'll hook you guys up. :D
Thanks for the offer but I'm actually located in the midwest. If I ever relocate up your direction I'll let you know. :)
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes, keep on folding!
No it had nothing to do with the folding. The company I worked for is going out of business due to financial mismanagement. :(
Nothing I can do about it but I'm sure something new will come along. I've already put the feelers out there and gotten in touch with some former coworkers to see...
I am saddened to inform you all that I have lost my place of employment and thus the majority of my folding farm. :(
I am still running a few isolated machines and am looking for more to help keep my production up but I don't expect it to be anything like it has. Hopefully in the next...
Well guys, my grandparents are moving from their brand new house they "retired" to in Florida. They haven't had any luck selling so far and asked me to see if I could help them find a buyer. I put together a quick little website http://www.dreamhomeforsale.net/ with several pictures and a...
I visit this forum usually once a week, post less than that.
I came for the comradery, I stayed for the beer. ;)
I fold for the [H]orde! and a cure!
I visit www.hardfolding.com several times a week for stats and to see who my biggest competition is... :D
Everyone should give themselves a...
