What exactly will the mods find out? If the TWKR 00 was deliberate or a Bios glitch?
There is no answer.
It's upto a buyer to decide, what if any extra significance the TWKR 00 holds over a standard 555. If indeed they were chips that were wrongly binned, or they were chips that just...
slightly off topic, but an interesting point.
I have always took it for granted that there would be some overclockers on the payroll of AMD or Intel. But never gave it much thought. Maybe not as there main income and maybe not for direct cash. So maybe you're right and the existence of an...
Yep, there is a thread here with the full list.. the board must have Advanced Clock Calibration settings, if that does not work try different official bios's failing that custom a bios, and even then your board may not unlock.
But im sure there are some people out there that could unlock...
Touch a raw nerve did I? Don't worry, "it's not your fault, you hear me!? it's not your fault"
You will notice the advert on ebay I have been totally honest (unless of cause, you think i already sold the 00 TWKR and this is an imposter). I told the whole story, you will also notice the 100%...
money is not my objective. and I know it won't make more than any other used 555, I just want to make sure that whoever buys it is someone that will play with it and not just use it as a 2 core 3.2GHZ chip.
I would love to see a pro overclocker buy it, to see what they can get out of it...
Yep it's getting old now, it's been in a second machine with light use for a while, I got a 4790K last year, happy with that. You do seem to be a little bitter in some way though. Like you had a 555 and you were upset it was not a 00 or a good overclocker. come on whats your story?
At...
Mine is prime stable @ 4.1 on stock voltage and with the crappy boxed cooler.
Thats about 300-400mhz higher than the average run of the mill 555. If it were a "glitch" then why does both the BIOS and CPUz both display the "glitch"?
And why do only a small number of 555's have the "glitch"...
Thanks for your input
The TWKR 42 says it on the heatspreader, as per the photos.
The TWKR 00 does not and is packaged as a run of the mill chip, that displays AMD engineering sample under certain conditions on the bios screen.
You want to prove me wrong? Then show me a picture of the "TWKR...
selling a "00 TWKR" here if you are still interested (2 years later)

They were replaced without issue. thanks
In defense of the XFX cards, they were the quietest of the bunch and im sure they would have worked fine for games. They were still a fair bit better than the sapphires.
Litecoin mining stressed the cards more than anything else. I had an XFX...
I think the TWKR 42 was marked on the heat spreader but the TWKR 00 was unmarked, and an easter egg for overclockers.
Im not really an overclocker, so didn't really do much with the chip, just unlocked the 2 extra cores with a modest overclock.
so 4 years and 3 months later ..... if I now google "phenom II 00 TWKR" there are a few more occurrences of people with the same chip, on threads that came after this one. On different boards and bios's... I wonder if they were AMD Easter eggs!
Im thinking of selling the chip and see...
I was litecoin mining with,
4 sapphire 7850's
4 MSI 7970's
4 XFX 7970's last year.
All sapphires broke within a week. (the fans)
All XFX's died within 2 weeks (artifacts and dead boards)
and all but of the 1 MSI's had been mining for a full year without issue, with only...

Hi all, i recently purchased a Phenom II black edition 555 x2, new from a trusted retailer.
which unlocks to 4 cores, no problem, but when i overclock to 1.4v 4gh. it says in bios screen AMD Engineering sample, and cpuz says "phenom...
well its ideal for me! as all the current itx cases dont have much room for drives(minimum of 3 bays needed). i want to build an itx system that is a file sever/download pc/ security pc . this case or one of the chenbro mini itx or the lian li pc-402 (out of production tho), should fit the...

hope this helps, im also very interested in the case looks like what ive been waiting for
with the 48xx grapics cards looking like the best buy for the savy gamer, ATI will probably make a dent in Nvidia, but overall how will this help AMD financialy?
Do they now have a chance of getting back in the black?
lol,
i was'nt the the one who called anyones post retarded.
i was'nt the the one who started the zenophobia.
i mearly defended myself.
but ban me it's not like i give a flying fuck
no they are not "identical" by its very nature its impossible. Its impossible for two chips of the same stepping to be "identical".
and if you dont belive me you should read up on Quantum mechanics.
true the differences are very small, but there will be measurable differences between...

Ive currently got a 8800gt 256mb, can it be used in SLI with a 512?
i know the core and mem clocks run slightly different speeds, but is it possible in theory?
anandtech have this review that pits the 9800gx2 against 3 x 3870.
http://anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3266&p=1
the gx2 pritty much beats 3 x 3870, put as for price/perfomance i think its about level
the 9600gt sli looks a good option tho
this site mentions a 5600+ black brisbane by end of the month, also some stuff about B3 phenom and Kuma
