Nice Heads up. This monitor looks great. I just bought the LG 34" 1440p for $800. I am going to stick with that for at least a year. I am guessing this releases in the $1400 range and while the extra pixels are nice not enough for the extra cash. Also will push a 1080ti too much, would require...
Same boat. I bought the 34" LG FreeSync 2 version. 144Hz gaming with a zero lag wired mouse and keyboard, wired headset is amazing coming from a wireless mouse and keyboard, and 60hz 4K tv with some input lag. PWM flicker on the 4K Tv was getting to me over time. It really hurt my eyes. The new...
I have a 2015 48" samsung 4k. The colors are great for games but the PWM flicker hurts my eyes over time on the desktop. Also it is 60Hz. As a desktop it is a little too big, I have to drag windows lower into my field of view. 43" is just about perfect for 4K with a good sharp PPI and plenty of...
I bought a refurbished Area-51 3 years ago. 3x980s to 1080sli to 1080ti solo. 32GB ram and an i7-5960. It is a beast, reliable quiet and fast. I mined for 6 months with it. It weighs like 75lbs. Great machine and a really good price with a dell outlet coupon. Highly recommend them.
The iPad is great for consuming and interacting with content. Until it gains way more ports it will not replace a laptop. Now if you add 4 usb c ports then it really could work. My iPad pros are so fast, smooth (120hz), and reliable.
This is the path to the future. There are too many roads, too much infrastruture, and too little taxes to pay to maintain them all. It is a very fair system that will help change the way we develop land and how we choose to live. Want to live in the suburbs and have a 30 minute commute? Fine...
I agree there is little live 4K content, but I am very happy with the 4K that is available and it makes it worth owning the hardware. You have Netflix streaming 4K, Amazon Prime 4K, and you can subscribe to a 4K blu-ray delivery service that is gaining more and more movies each month. Add to...
Having just upgraded my ps4 to a ps4 pro and playing Horizon Zero Dawn, I can safely say Sony can wait. The graphics are amazing. I have a high-end 4K htpc hooked up to a 75" 4K tv and there is hardly a PC game out now that matches the beauty that this lowly 4.12 teraflop machine is producing...
Bought a switch on launch day, played Zelda for about 20 hrs then sold it. Too many frame rate issues and the console itself needs version 2 to get my dollars. A plastic screen that scratches when docked? A power plug on the bottom interfering with the kickstand? Featureless OS? I am happy to...
If you can wait this is a great example of a game worth waiting until November sales to play. Buy it on Black Friday for $29, and enjoy a fully patched game with great driver performance. For the price it will be a fun experience and if you don't like something about the game there are plenty of...
In terms of pixel density the 40-43" range at 4K is almost perfect. I to came from a 30" Dell IPS Ultrasharp at 2560x1600 (great but still see the pixels compared to my 5K iMac at 27"). The Sony seemed perfect, but something strange happened. The first time I owned the 48" JS9000 I was...
I have owned a lot of high end displays. Projectors, Plasma's, LCD's, CRT's. Without a doubt there is no comparison for the sony x800d and the JS9000. The JS9000 blows it away, a Lexus against a Mazda. I drive a 2005 Lexus GX470 and would never trade it for a 2017 Mazda, they just don't...
SLI was a pain as every driver upgrade you had to select it. Some games wouldn't support SLI and there was chance of micro stutter and other latency delays. Also more heat, power, VR problem, etc.
Enjoying single card again. Is there any value to keeping one 980 for PhysX or is it not worth...
Wow watched a Star Trek TNG episode on the Samsung. No comparison, blows away the Sony. I had forgotten how vivid the colors and dark the blacks are on the JS9000. If anyone wants a screen this size there is nothing at this price that can complete with last years flagship.
Saw this laptop at CES. Wow. Best laptop screen I have ever seen hands down. Thinking about getting one for our office. Between this and the new macbook pro. When the new MacBooks come out I will order this and the macbook and run some tests and keep the winner. Looking forward to it!
No PWM isn't so bad, I see flicker but I can deal with it. At home have samsung's last flagship plasma and love it. It flickers more than an LCD ever will, but man the picture is gorgeous. I remember the days of running my CRT Sony Trinitron's at 120 Hz to minimize flicker, 60Hz was unbearable...
I recently purchased the Sony X800D from Best Buy at 43" 4K HDR. It has a nice picture, blacks are a little grey and washed out but the backlight is very nice with no PWM and the size is perfect for a computer monitor 4k at 43". However I previously had for about a month last year the 48"...
This makes sense. Consoles can follow an upgrade cycle not unlike cell phones, tv streaming boxes, and tablets. Games roll out and support hardware several cycles prior, eventually hardware gets too old to run the latest OS and game devs drop support. Things change and I think Sony and...
I have had DK2 for a year or two now, it is a great seated experience. When I play I line up my hands with the joystick and my brain thinks the movement is real. I do think the best VR experience involves hand tracking, and head and body tracking (looking up as a space ship flies overhead is...
Been watching Mozart in the Jungle on Amazon prime. It is one of two shows available to stream in HDR on the JS9000. The picture is amazing straight on. Overall I still prefer my f8500 plasma for its inky blacks and jaw dropping picture, but this is by far the best led picture for movies and tv...
Performance is lacking and seriously fail on the no hdmi 2.0. I mean really??? How can you focus on 4K gaming and leave that out? Last AMD card I had was a great bang for the buck 6870. Drivers were buggy but the card was ahead of its time. If this was priced at $400 or so this might fit into...
Finally figured out the hdmi issues I was having. Combination of windows 10 errors and nvidia drivers in SLI in windows 10. Back to 8.1 and all is running perfectly. Running with warmer color settings to see if they are better.
I am getting a more punchy image (bright whites, dark blacks) and deeper colors on RGB Full setting versus the YCBCR444 mode. Anyone else? Agreed Sharpness in PC Mode needs to be around 50
Owner of js9000. Running win 10. Sometimes still have hdmi problems. Screen going blank sometimes. Bet it is copy protection handshake. Anyone else have same issues? All settings correct. Good cable. I'm thinking my video card might just be flaky or Samsung box needs replacing. Motherboard is new.
Isolated the problem. hdmi 1 if you go into picture settings and turn on the Samsung High Color UCS (or something like that), the picture goes blank. turn it off and it works correctly. The downside is when it is off the nvidia control panel doesn't show the RCP and Full color option. Need to...
Did some hdmi troubleshooting last night. Was worried my windows 10 preview was the issue, or a bad video card. Turns out no. I reinstalled windows 8.1 (painful) and tested. Still same post issues, swapped out video cards, updated drivers and settings. Played around with my Dell on both DVI...
Having a weird issue on the 9000. When I boot up using hdmi I don't see the bios post screen. Eventually windows kicks in and my login screen shows up. Is there a setting in the bios that needs fixing?
FYI I have the oculus dev kit 2 and the 48" 9000 is the closest feeling to that immersion...
Tip: It is worth buying a nicer HDMI cable. I was having problems with my high speed ones lying around. Picked up a decent one and working much better now.
Turned on PC Mode for HDMI 1, looks great, thanks for the tip. It reset some ECO sensors modes, so had to change those back to off.
This...
Well Crutchfield is awesome. I ordered the JS9000 yesterday and it was in my office today, shipped from VA to NC.
Wow the colors and the curve are amazing! I first plugged in a cheapo HDMI cable and no go. I found a high speed cable and plugged that in, and away we go. Windows 10 preview...
I have been following the conversation between supermi and Honeydew, haha gotta love userid's.
I have been using a Dell 30" IPS for a long time. I also have an assortment of top end Plasma tvs and lcds throughout the house, so I am a bit of a display geek. All this talk of new got me...
