If you do go with the beefier case/powersupply and don't mind used, you might be able to pick up a RX580 8g on ebay for ~100cad. Most I saw were shipped from the us though. Might be able to do better on your local Craigslist equivalent.
My DFI stash. No Ultra-D. also previously owned a NF2 with an XP-M barton. SLI-DR Expert has a single bulging cap that I noticed. my 165 ran 2.6 on the stock cooler. Not sure if the IHS compound was bad, cpu temps were wonky before I retired it. CF3200 has no audio module. Sorry for blurry pics...
79C cpu temp is a bit warm for just a game. Are you running the stock CPU cooler? Is it dusty? Have you ever replaced the TIM? What are your GPU temps in game? If you just want an excuse to upgrade, go for it. New hardware is always nice.
I am assuming you are on x58 with a i7 920? If you want...
The pro version should not be called pro It might be tolerable as "home". I once had it update my newer video driver with an older whql one while I was in the middle of a game in borderless mode. Had it reboot while running a game server. lost files due to corruption when rebooted unexpectedly...
I have the x99 Phoenix with a 6800k and haven't had any issues other than deciding to buy ram that wasn't on the compatibility list. I wasn't able to use the xmp profile. I have not attempted any overclocking yet either. Sound quality is reasonably good. I think that most of the first gen x99...
Well, approximately ranked by estimated playtime. The list is not comprehensive but 10 was not quite enough. Though, if you lumped mods together with the base game the list may become quite short.

I would be happy with a galaxy s5 with upgraded hardware and an unlocked bootloader. Samsung had a pretty good design, dual sim would be another nice addition. Other than that, a reasonable price.
Corsair k70 RGB lux is $20 off from 159.99 to 139.99 at Newegg. I just submitted a price match request to Amazon.

That looks pretty nice. I was thinking more along the lines of intel integrated graphics for improved battery life. I have also had quite a bit of trouble getting upgraded laptop gfx drivers for dell laptops with the discreet + integrated combo.
So far I have looked at the Asus Zenbook UX305FA which seems almost perfect, but the cpu could be a bit slow and build quality? Does anyone have experience with one of these?
Is there a definitive choice for a laptop that costs less than $700 with decent battery life?
My main requirements are:
15in or smaller
1080p or better screen
8gigs ram or 4 with ability to upgrade to 8 at a later time
I3 or better processor
3+ hours of battery life
user replaceable hdd...
I am looking to purchase a set of Corsair Gold AX1200 cables. Cost is the primary concern, color does not matter. I am willing to purchase a complete set. However, I primarily need the 8pin cpu cable, sata cables, and at least one string of 4 pin connectors.
Heatware: malecoda
Smile, nod and continue with the install. If the specs are the same, and you aren't experiencing BSOD's or the like you should be fine. If you are concerned, run a few passes of memtest.
I am running a HP p410 in a dl180g6 l5639/8g on server 2008 with the latest drivers/firmware. The drives are 4 samsung f4eg 2tb in raid 5, 128K stripe, with updated firmware. read speeds are good at 322MB/s while writes are terrible at 44.6MB/s. The other raid 5 array on the same controller...
Thanks, I will attempt an rma.
The measurements were from afterburner - which i was using to control the fan speed. From my experience, a card with a working heatsink will rise to it's maximum temperature over a period longer than 5s. If the card had shown any signs of slowing down at 90c, I...
I recently came across a galaxy gtx560ti. I purchased the card for a friend, so I started stability testing as soon as I got it. The instant I turned on a game temperatures quickly rose to 90C (it would have continued to rise) with fans manually set to 100% before i stopped the test. My first...
Would virtualing freenas in vsphere be the way to go for my storage setup? Is server 2012 still a poor alternative? I am also beginning to realize I may need to order more ram.
Ordered a DL180G6 with two L5639, 14 trays, and 2x4g ecc. I plan to use one of the L5639s in my x58 box for now. I had originally planned to pick up one of the supermicro boxes. However, I did not think it would meet my processing needs. I considered the HPx6100 (80w qc xenon, 3x2GB) for $300...
I have read about many people running the 24bay supermicro servers for data storage. How does the HP DL180 G6(2u,14bay) hold up against the supermicro? I would like to run a few VMs in addition to serving files. Or should I opt for something else?
Hope this helps.

The only potential issue that I see is that your current ram is rated at 1.65v. I am pretty sure Ivy bridge is only rated to ~1.575v. (hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in) It may be fine or you could probably run your ram at 1333 at 1.5v. Just be sure to run a few passes of...
Sounds like it is probably the display then. Here is a site i found while trying to determine your issue (http://www.badcaps.net). It seemed pretty informative, but there may be a better site. Most tv issues these days seem to be caused by cheap caps/other non screen components (take extreme...
It could be a problem with the tv's build in scaler If it only happens when you change the resolution. It may help if you run all of your games at the tv's native resolution or use the scaler on the graphics card instead. (Not sure if this is possible with ati cards) You may want to consider...
Have you played around with the encoder settings?

Are you transcoding directly from the bd? How fast is your destination drive? What version of handbrake are you using?
You may want to try running a smaller test file directly from the hdd on the pc.
