Doesn't get any better than that.
They have lifetime replacement warranty. The 3 years is for 24/7 support thats included with the switch. I have had HP gear that's been in production for 10+ years before we replaced it.
What is your concern? Not realizing maximum throughput across VPN tunnel?
You can use iperf (jperf gui for windows if you'd like) and test different window sizes with simultaneous streams to verify throughput.
The article is a bit misleading. These controls can only be activated through the actual physical OBD2 port under the dash. They are testing features for dealerships to verify functionality of the car's systems. It's not like you can just get in the vicinity of the car and take control.
I manage a large fortinet shop. IMO, the biggest benefit PA has over Fortigate is how they rate throughputs. Once you learn how to properly size a fortigate, they are excellent appliances and still more cost effective.
Your sentence starts out just like every PA sales pitch I've entertained.
Actually the premium license is a thing of the past, all premium features are now available through the latest firmware update. The 3500yl handles iSCSI traffic with no issue, and of course supports jumbo frames, etc.
You can use any Ethernet port on a 3500yl for host connectivity.
The 3500yl is a great switch, very powerful. They are a little more affordable now that they are being replaced with the 3800 series. They run the same firmware as the 5400/8200 series switches as well.
I'll even expand on this. In a larger, enterprise type environment, network professionals don't do server or systems work. This is a challenge I face quite a bit when hiring: an applicant will come from a MSP or small shop where "network engineer" is a title for someone who plugs in switches and...

I have many network admins that work for me. I will hire experience and confidence any day of the week over a degree. Degrees (especially baccalaureate) are highly conceptual and teach minimal practical knowledge, if any. If I'm hiring an admin, I want them to have the confidence and...
Services should only be open to the world through firewalls that have a business justification. The first conversation to have is with your users and leadership to understand what their use cases are for the data and services on the servers.
"strongest" WAP is a bit of a misnomer. PRoblem is,even if you buy a WAP that is "stronger" the devices you are connecting to it are still the weakest link. Plus, all WAPs are regulated by the FCC.
I have no idea what you are going on about!
HP warranty also includes 3 years of 24/7 support in addition to the lifetime replacement, included!

As far as HP updates...
YES, HP wireless is g-a-r-b-a-g-e! I've spent the last 3 years ripping out and replacing both HP WESM and MSM systems. Both are JUNK. When you throw over 1000 WAPs into the mix, it's awful.
The 3500yl (now 3800) series are a very good switch, and run the same firmware as the 5400/8200 series. They are a full L3 switch. HP offers many less expensive options if you only need L2, like the 2530 series.
I've never paid for support or updates on any of our HP gear.
Switch wise, look at HP Procurve. Lifetime warranty and reasonably priced. Router wise, what are you trying to accomplish? Inter-vlan routing or strictly NAT for internet?
You're better off adding NICs anyway, even with LACP or etherchannel you can only get a maximum of 1Gb per flow. LAGs are just round-robin(or other load balancing method) 1gb links
I vetted both for my environment, and the Ubiquiti just doesn't have the feature set or support to operate in an true enterprise environment. It would work well for home users or maybe some offices with simple requirements.
I use two methods:

Aerohive does allow for the hivemanager to be hosted on-premises. I opted to handle my deployment this way. This also allows for me to control access to the hivemanager through my firewalls.
It's worth noting that if the hivemanager is not available, it does not affect WAP operation.
If you manage a large number of WAPs, you change your tune. Having central management is the only way you can manage a deployment of size. I manage a 1000+ WAP aerohive deployment and its quite easy. I do host our hivemanager on premises rather than in the cloud.
I maintain a lot of HP equipment and I've never had a firmware update break a config. You can always do a "show run" and backup your entire config to notepad.
Have you checked through HP support? If there is an updated firmware, its likely through HP as 3com is defunct.

I disagree; multimode optics aren't going anywhere. The only time you want to use mode conditioning cables is to get a slightly longer distance over MMF with single mode optics. 1000SX and 10Gb-SR aren't go anywhere. OM3/OM4 is pretty much the standard for intra-building fiber connections.
BTW...
Just call the telephone company and ask them what service is available for the address. Do the same if there is a catv provider. Then you dont have to get on a forum and speculate
