Ends cat5 ends as been replaced and I have an linksys router on one end and computer on other end. I have 200 ft of cat5 then 200ft of fiber. I can't ping anything I can't even get the computer get an IP address an ip coming from the linksys router .

I have cables to go fiber media convertors is not passing any traffic and when it's connected to 200ft cable it links up just fine but not doing anything. Could an broken fiber not causing it to pass any traffic?

if you do not have an static IP then your getting an public IP via dhcp so in anyway you wont be able to host anything on an public dhcp ip address until less you use an site like no-ip...your probably natted by the gateway anyways...

yes I have multiple ips on the wan interface on my router but I have nat 1:1 setup but all of my other servers work just fine but the buffalo nas is going onto my mail server external IP address which I do not want to do that. I have an static IP just for the buffalo nas.

ok I had to rebuild sendmail to the latest version (Sendmail version 8.14.4, config V10/Berkeley) of it but now it just sends out mail as [email protected] when I only want to send it as [email protected] but how do I tell sendmail to relay it to my postfix server?

I am thinking about switching the PIAF go postfix then I can relay over to my other postfix.

Yes they are on separate servers one is an true mail server running postfix and other one is PIAF (PBX in a Flash) that is running sendmail and all the PIAF is doing sending email in case there is an vm that can be delivered to an user.

Question to ask is there anyway to get sendmail relay to postfix server or not?
