Just curious, does the story/ setting hold for those that don't care about star wars universe or lore but just want to play a space action adventure? Been playing AC Valhalla, and I surprisingly like it, and this looks like a shorter, tighter and much graphically prettier package than that?
I don't understand the reluctance of not adding an easier difficulty option for those who may want a different level of challenge. Make the current difficulty a default and just add an easier option for those of us with family, kids and tons of work obligations.
I have been reading so many people arguing on Reddit on whether this is souls like or something else - but in terms of difficulty, is this much easier than Elden Ring? Or does it involve a ton of trial and movement memorization to beat bosses?
I am super intrigued by this game, but absolutely dislike souls types of games (difficulty). From what I heard its much more forgiving than average souls game, so tempted to try it. Wish there was a demo...
For fourth installment, I hope they tone down their attempts at "humor" and tone down the drops. In BL 3 the amount of drops was so insane that it was meaningless.
Both me and my wife really want to love this game. Its beyond beautiful, whoever was in charge of of art and graphics deserves huge cudos. The problem is that the game is super tedious (picking up fruit or killing animals in certain way for optimal crafting - like really?) and story is very blah...
Yes it can be super colorful, especially on my S95D QD-Oled - so I use NVDA auto HDR / filter to tone down saturation. Great monitor BTW, over 2000 nits measured at 2% which is insane for an Oled.
100% agree been playing with my wife - tons of fun. Issue with coop is that only host progresses, however, since I am only playing with her it's a non issue. I really wish we get more games like this that are all about gameplay and not "preachy" type of stuff.
It's on Xbox pass - have not had as much fun with a game in a while. Super fast paced, super fun gameplay loop. Reminds me of how games used to be. As someone said above - "rock solid Cowboy vs Zombies popcorn action shooter/brawler - no more, no less.
Thats a really good summary. As far as Sony PC exclusives, so far I played GoW (for me it was just ok don't understand the hype) and Uncharted (loved it). Still have Last of Us and Ratchet & Clank on my backlog. Now I have to add this to backlog too... So many good games so little time.
I do not see any enhanced graphical features in trailer. It is a 4 year old game, they could have added ray tracing or enhanced graphics setting for PC.
I just wish in these types of games they would make the impact somehow visible. Otherwise it feels you are hitting a piece of plastic with another piece of plastic. Breaks up the immersion quite a bit for me.
One thing that looks weird is you hit these big beasts, cut them and like nothing shows on them. Like ripped skin etc. After hitting them and cutting them with sword over and over they look exactly the same. Not sure if I am the only one that thinks this is weird.
I meant from gaming perspective, I remember playing Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis as a kid -so that would be my latest memory of Indiana Jones gaming experience.
Good point, as this is a theoretical limit for the panel while real world figures are usually much lower as you pointed. In any event, they did state 20% increase over gen 2 - so I would add 20% to your figure to get a more realistic brightness. Other than brightness, I am even more excited...
Just announced at CES 2024, Samsung S90D model will come in lower sizes including 48" and 42". At this point it appears there is ton of uncertainty whether these smaller sizes will feature QD OLED or regular OLED (W-OLED) displays. If they do feature gen 3 QD OLED - these may be so much more...
Everything I heard about this game so far suggests it's better than typical Far Cry in both graphical and gameplay department. I am moving it up to near the top of my very long backlog.
I take from it that they are doing a complete overhaul with graphical fidelity thats available today while still remaiming true to source material. At least this is what I hope for.
Exactly, I am in a huge minority as a truly passionate PC centric type of a gamer that would not touch a console with a 10 foot stick. I suppose this is why I hang around hardforum. Not many of us out there which is what allows companies like Rockstar to neglect the PC platform to a degree that...
Given all the life / work obligations and avalanche of good games out there that I never got to (Elden Ring, BG3, Cyberpunk expansion etc. etc.) someone would have to pay me a ton of money to waste my time on this "turd".
Released in August, its an awesome shooter by Apogee - mix of doom eternal with cyberpunk theme and heavy 80s action movie vibe. Shooting is amazing, its getting incredible reviews such as:

I do not understand why some people are upset at image reconstruction techniques, like DLSS or upcoming replacement of rasterization and ray tracing with full neural rendering - because somehow this does not represent the accurate reality? Are people aware, that we humans do not perceive...
Thank you for sharing, will have to try this. I finished the game a while ago, updated to 2.0 today, maxed graphics quality with path tracing- and the game looks more blurry than I remember. To the point where I went back to setttings few times to make sure dlss was set on quality and everything...
I remember my first ZX Spectrum (Sinclair) in all of its 48K glory (we were slightly jealous when C64 came out).
Or years later when I played Eye of The Beholder and thought RPGs will never get better than this.....
Hopefully with the speed of advancements in various generative AI tools, the development for GD2 can be materially shortened. Diablo 4 just sucks compared to GD.
Even bigger disappointment than lack of RT is complete lack of HDR implementation (including forced through windows) - has there been any workaround for this?
I finally got Diablo 4, been playing for few days now, other than HDR looking like crap - no real issues, and it is an enjoyable game. Its obviously well polished but for some reason not having as much fun as I did with Grim Dawn. Granted, I am a noob when it comes to arpgs, so my opinion should...
