Bumping an old thread, but I would really like to find an answer to this. I don't know if the OP is right about his board having a one year warranty.
I just bought a MSI board from Fry's for a very nice price. Their web listing is gone now, so I went to Newegg and their web page for my board...
I don't know if the aluminum on the PC-V351B is the same as other Lian Li cases, but can anyone tell me if it the panels on the 351 bend easily? I'm interested in getting one, or the new 352.
Well it's definitely not the power supply, I have been using it for a while. The power supply wasn't even taken out of my case from my last setup, I just swapped the board and processor.
It's also not the case's power button because that button worked just fine with my last setup. And my...
I have had this problem on two different Biostar motherboards. I've never seen this problem with other motherboards.
Anyway, right now the board I'm using is a MCP6P M2+. I can get my computer running with this board. The issue is that when I shut it down, I can't turn it back on by pressing...
Can someone tell me how sturdy the Fredrick is? Looking at this picture, it seems to hold up fine.
But I just read through this Fredrik vs. Jerker thread and people say it is really wobbly.
My computer went down and most, if not all, of the main components are dead.
I have a Corsair CMPSU-550VX power supply that may be faulty. This is my first power supply failure out of about 5 PSU's that I've owned, so I have a noob question to ask.
I did the paper clip test and the PSU fan...
I was setting up my new p180 mini and had everything wired and working. Since the computer ran smoothly, I ran all the wires behind the motherboard and cleaned it up a little, then turned it back on.
My computer just kept randomly shutting off after a few seconds. After being stupid enough to...
Yeah, it's a hub from over 5 years ago... lol.
We have a computer downstairs with the cable modem and router down there. Then we have two computers upstairs connected to the router through a hub.
I got the wireless adapter for my computer because it was $10.
I will look into getting a...
haha, looks you were right!
I was using a wireless adapter. I turned that off and ran an ethernet cable to my motherboard and that fixed all my problems.
Only problem is that when I use a wired connection on my computer, it always lags when someone uses the computer in the next room. Our...
I got a replacement card in the mail today and the problems are there with this card.
Must be something wrong with my hardware but I can't figure out what is causing the problem.
I'll try a different computer next.
Another way to look at it: this computer is one of three gaming computers on my network. The other two computers don't lag either.
I should also clarify: in CS:S my ping is always like 30, it is never high. And maybe a better term is "freeze", and not lag spike. The game will randomly freeze...
I will try your suggestion this weekend. If it really is the internet, that's a strange problem.
But if I get no lag spikes with my 7900gt in CS:S and CoD4 (on lower settings, 720p, etc), how could it be my internet?
It's definitely not an internet problem.
I download at 500kb to 1.1mb.
I have never lagged in games with previous video cards.
In fact, this is the first hardware problem I've ever had, out of about five computers.
I bought this card last week and it came in on Monday. I put it in the first day and I had random lag/frame rate drops with this card.
I upgraded from a 7900gt.
With the 7900gt, I would get no lag and my frame rate would be anywhere from 60 to 120 fps in CS:S.
With the 9600gt, I get...
Hope you don't accidentally spill something down there...
I wouldn't leave that thing running unattended either.. wouldn't want to come home to a burnt down house..
Nice.. I hated the look of the older 1200..
The gray looks ugly as hell. The newer black 1200 looks great though. Looks like my all black 900.
What I really want though is a retail p182 black or gunmetal with a side window. I understand that the 180 series is supposed to be silent and a...
Plasma's still have burn-in problems.. it's just that the newer ones are less prone to burn-in than the older generations of plasmas because of newer technology.

This is the only site I found these extension cables.. if anyone knows where else you can buy some, let me know.
Also, one of the cables is out of stock right now.
I have one of the newer 900's that come with two precut holes. I cut out three more holes for cable management and I am going to paint the case interior and hdd trays black later today.
Thanks for the info. From what I've read, if for any reason I need to reinstall my oem XP, I just call microsoft and tell them I have to reinstall because my (insert computer component) broke, but I am still using windows in the same computer, and they will help me re-activate windows.
Nope.. it is $29.99 AR and google checkout at buy.com and it's been at this price for at least a week.
