Try storing all your dvds and blurays for networked home-theater-PCs. I'm up to 26TB and counting in a 4U rack. They could have easily put several more 3.5" bays (or at least made them optional) and made this a good choice for a home file server, too much wasted space.
Shipping seems expensive, but this thing is enormous and heavy. It also had probably the best packing job I've ever seen - the server was completely encased in a few inches of molded foam. Short of someone driving a forklift into the package, you're pretty much guaranteed to get it in good shape.
Before I ordered mine I asked them specifically if it included screws for all the hard drive bays, they said yes, and a baggie full of them was taped to the server when I got it.
I ordered mine on Friday from green-sum and got it in Chicago on Monday. Damn impressive that companies from Korea can compete with Amazon Prime in shipping speed.
They're actually 3 140mm fans, not 120mm. It may be a little hard to see but they are actually very secure in place and won't budge. The 3 fans themselves are zip tied together tight on the front and back of the fan grills so that it's one big piece (you can't see the side of the fans towards...
I don't know if they are just selling on ebay now, but when I purchased mine we just talked over email and paid through paypal without using ebay at all.
INCREDIBLY loud. Like if you had it in your office with the door closed you'll hear it elsewhere in the house, not even kidding. The linked avs these has some info on how to quiet it down. I personally replaced the two server PSUs with an ax850, swapped out the two 80mm exhaust with quieter...
Yeah these have been pretty popular on avs and the unRAID forums. I bought the quad core, and after swapping in a consumer level PSU and fans its a great setup that's extremely cheap for what you get, pretty much turnkey 24bay server. As for the drive size question, I have some 4tb drives...
Have a quick question that may seem somewhat obvious (been out of the high end pc scene for a number of years).
I just bought a 2560*1440 monitor and am looking to drive it with a 770, in particular the MSI Lightning. That board has two 8pin power connectors, but it ships with two seperate...
From what I've seen I think this is the first keyboard with brown switches that also has a dedicated volume key/roller (not dual purpose with the function keys). I'll wait for some more reviews, but I may replace my CM Storm Quickfire pro with this, as the lack of dedicated volume keys are my...
I just started learning about digital cameras, but have recently found a decent camera with a 10x zoom that isn't enormous (pocketable).

Can someone check and see if you can now fast forward in music now? I listen to some pretty long songs and would like to fast forward through an intro every now and then.
We've been able to FF on video, but not music till now. Just wondering if they addressed this or if it is the same.
I've probably spent 200-300 hours playing Rock Band/Rock Band 2 this year. IMO there is no other game out there that you can just sink time into and continue having as much fun as you did at the beginning.
After that, probably COD4 and Fight Night 3.
Harmonix and Activision have both confirmed that all the instruments will be cross compatible this time. Sony and Microsoft must have stepped in and got the two companies to start playing nice with each other. This way we don't have to have 2 full sets of fake instruments...
I do wish that...
Maybe they were talking about the old 80gb model that had software backwards compatibility. As far as i know, the new dual shock 80gb doesn't have any backwards compatibility.
Soul Calibur is a MUST HAVE, still my favorite fighting game for any system. Crazy Taxi, Soul Reaver, Bust a Move 4, and Rez (although if you have a 360, you can just get it off of marketplace, plus it has HD and 5.1). IMO the Sonic games were kinda meh.
I would love to get the wireless one, but I want a numpad, so looks like I'll be sticking with the wired. I wish Apple would release a wireless WITH a numpad also. And ocbaud, how do you like the mighty mouse?
Mario Kart DS is pretty fun, especially if you have friends that have it also. You can play over wifi against each other.
EDIT: Whoops, looks like someone said the same thing exactly when I posted it too.
Maybe Earl will be an incompetent photographer in the game just like he is in real life. Or maybe there will a mission involving a certain super hero, perhaps Man-Man? Or Fezi-McCool?
I'm a big fan of both shows. And here's a bit of actual audio from GTA4 that they played the O&A show on...
PS3 is getting the maps later in the month, April 24th. Sorry for you PS3 guys :( .

Given Harmonix's history for patches, I wouldn't hold my breath. Remember back in the days of Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 when they said they would put out a patch for online play? That never happened. They still haven't put out an Online Band World Tour for Rock Band, when they said they were...
The 360 is definitely better for Rock Band. It's the only system that allows you to use the GH3 Les Paul guitars. The Wii won't get any downloadable content, the PS3 and 360 do. But, a nice little plus for the 360 is that it gets the DLC on Tuesdays as opposed to Thursdays for the PS3.
I think that used to be true, but quite a while ago MS released an update that really improved VGA output. I've ran my 360 on my 50" 1080p Sammy DLP through both component and VGA, and I CANNOT tell any difference in games, but VGA adds DVD upscaling and 1080p playback of HD-DVDs.
Just worked at a circuit city in Overland Park, KS. When I walked up, there was already a guy buying it. The thing is, that guy didn't buy it online, he just walked in the store and bought it. The manager was saying that if they can sell it online, they're gonna sell it in store too. Looks like...
I was in this same situation in November, and I ended up getting a 360. But, a friend across the hall from me has a Wii that i play quite often, so I've got experience with both. The only time we really play the wii is when there is like 3 people over, like wii sports (we played zelda, but after...
yeah, i modded 3 ds lite's when they first came out. Things are a lot nicer now, with slot1 solutions and what not. I'd stick to www.gbatemp.net , that's pretty much the best place for info. Put in some time reading the forums and it'll make sense pretty quick. And if you need places to locate...
I don't want to take credit for this, so here's a reference to the slickdeals thread:

It's for a small chain of stores in LA, but you can printout a side of the ad, and try to get a store to pricematch it. Now it is a...
Yeah, I picked up the 360 about 3-4 weeks ago at Microcenter. Since then, everytime i've been there, I've seen no less than 5 people in my visits buy 360's each time. When i was out there for black friday, 1 out of every 3 people were buying 360's. Pretty crazy, and pretty popular deal.
I picked up the premium for $300 AR when the first rebate came around... I wonder if there is some way I can get in on this by returning it. But I already sent in the rebate. Anybody know if there is a possibility I could work it?
Wow. Amazing.
Last Wednesday a buddy that works in a local walmart's electronics department gave me the heads up that they got in 4 PS3's, 2 60GB and 2 20GB. I went up there, put a 20GB on the credit card, and put it on ebay. While prices aren't what they were, I made $300 just by driving 5...
Word is out on all the tech sites and blogs. This thing is now pretty much guaranteed to go within a second. Now don't get me wrong, I'll have 4 people with different accounts trying to get this, but the chances are pretty slim....
Especially considering I use wildblue satellite internet...
