So how long after the Kickstarter ends will we need to choose our color?

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

So there's 5 hours left in the Kickstarter, congrats on reaching the goal! I think we're all very excited to get our hands on this case. Do we have any more clear pictures of the white finish? Most of the comparison images I see are renders and not real cases. You say it's a bit more glossy than...

That Sweclockers water-cooling build looks awesome so far. Are the (what I'm assuming acrylic) side panels something you're looking at? I didn't see that in the renders you made for the poll. I think a lot of people who intend on doing water cooling would prefer that over a window cut into the...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Do you mean leaving off the bottom fan and only using the top fan? If so that will be impossible. All tests done with the L12 are with the bottom fan on and the top fan off, leaving almost no room between the heatsink and the side panel. If you were to leave the bottom fan off and replace that...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

I think Pashalski was half-pitching the idea of a solid metal side panel without ventilation, given that he already mentioned solid and ventilated glass side panels. So Greyhound was arguing that whoever doesn't want side ventilation is using water cooling and would therefore would want to show...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

You do. There if you want the case and like what you see then you should back it to get one and hope it reaches its funding goal. You don't have to worry about the project not getting full funding and basically losing money with nothing in return.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

It's a pull, which I believe is the stock orientation of the cooler. The idea is that all cool air is brought in from the sides of the case (CPU, GPU, PSU) and hot air either passively rises through the top, or you place fans in a top hat to pull hot air out the top.

This is as close as I could find to the RAM restrictions. I don't know where the bottom point of the heatsink in the picture sits in relation to the height of the RAM off the board, but it should give you some kind of clue. Someone here might have the exact number...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

The newer model NH-L12s does NOT fit in this case. Right now it seems one of the best coolers to get is the NH-L12 before the revision. You could probably find one on eBay if you wanted. Here are the tests they did with other CPU coolers. Looks like the next best option is a Shuriken with a...

Open air. I have a Gigabyte 1080 ti and 7700k, and I'll be using the SF600 as well when I get the case (I have a standard ATX PSU now). Ideally the five fans (3 GPU, CPU, PSU) will be the "intake" of the machine, and two slim noctuas in a top hat would be the exhaust. I'll at least have that set...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Yeah I'm definitely not doing water cooling. I mean I 100% plan to have at least one small top hat with two 120mm slim fans on top for exhaust, my only question would be if it'd be worth the extra $$ for the top hat (on the bottom) plus two more fans. If the temp difference is nonexistent or...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Any chance of being able to test a push pull top and bottom slim fan setup like he mentioned? Two in a bottom hat and two in a top hat?

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

I'm in the same boat as you, and I don't think we have the numbers to back up the benefits of fans on both the top and bottom, but I'd assume that any amount of extra airflow helps. That's what I plan to do anyway, four slim noctua fans on the top and bottom.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

They haven't talked about it too much but from what I've seen they attach the same as the top, just flipped upside down. I don't think they're going to support custom loops with this iteration of the case at least. I'm sure you could work something out and do it yourself like you said with a...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Oh no, I just signed up for notifications on their website. Although since I signed up for it I haven't gotten any emails so I don't see why I'd get one now lol. They should really be utilizing that. I'm sure there are a bunch of people who have stumbled on their site and signed up for the...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

I'm just thinking about being able to contact people after the campaign. I know you'd imagine everyone backing the Kickstarter would be competent and would follow up with a survey asking for specifics, but I can't imagine the headache you're going to have when a small percentage of people just...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

So during the Kickstarter we will only have the option for what tophats we want? So if the campaign is a success, will you be sending out messages asking what color we want? Seems kind of inefficient to have to contact all ~1800 backers AFTER the Kickstarter has ended.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

I agree with this, I think testing a 1060 would be the absolute minimum. I don't see anyone putting anything less than a 1060 in this case, if that.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

I just got a Gigabyte 1080 ti on Massdrop (its over now) for $699, just gotta keep an eye out for deals. I'm also getting the NH-L12 for this case (I actually already bought it since they just came out with a new revision, and the new revision isn't compatible with the Ghost), and I plan to do...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Check out some of the tests they did (you should be able to find them in this thread in the past few weeks) with the 7700K in the machine. They tested multiple CPU coolers and configurations and it looks like we'll have some decent options (I also have a 7700K)

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

My vote for reviewer quality and exposure would be Linus Tech Tips and HardwareCanucks. The only problem is I don't know what their backlog looks like. If they have a ton of items on their list to review then they might not get to the Ghost till even after the Kickstarter ends. I suppose the...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Agreed, I'd love to know what the recommended cable lengths are for motherboard/cpu/gpu/ssds so we can get custom cables for this case.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

In a small case with limited airflow to begin with (although not too much of a problem with the Ghost it seems) a dust filter adds a little bit of blockage for air to get through. It's not a huge deal, but when you have a bunch of people arguing over which cpu cooler gives an extra 1 degree of...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

I personally wouldn't use them, and since one of the biggest issues with many SFF cases is airflow and temperature, I think most people would opt to keep filters off even if they were included. Would it be possible to make them an option during the Kickstarter? That would definitely benefit...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

You state both the 7700K and the 7700 in the setup description, could you clarify which one it is? Thanks, looks good, glad I bought an L12 ahead of time in preparation for this case.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

This right here. I bought one a few weeks ago once I heard they were close to rolling out the new revision. If you plan to buy this case, drop the ~$60 now and get this cooler while you can. Worse case scenario and you don't buy Ghost, you can probably turn the cooler for a profit later on from...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

I think it's a little late to be making a change like that. They're in production of the demo cases for reviewers and I'd think they'd prefer the case going to reviewers be the same case that goes to the public. Also there is basically no front I/O anymore, besides the power button, so adding...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

I think when people buy a case this small, they're already agreeing to the fact that it'll be a lot of work putting it together, managing cables, getting everything to fit snug, etc. When someone is going for a case this small they probably already have a lot of experience building computers. I...

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

That is what I plan to do. I plan on putting the 120mm fan on the bottom but I have two 2.5" SSDs, so I plan to just tape them here and there.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Coolers will come and go. If in a few months there's a better compatible cooler announced then it would have been delayed and widened for nothing. I'm sure the NH-L12 isn't the best by such a wide margin that the entire project has to be reworked just to fit the new one.
  34. Y

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Can't wait to be doing that myself! I saw on Instagram you were saying a possible Kickstarter in 6-7 weeks?

Thanks for the heads up, just bought one before they replace it with the new ones
  36. Y

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Yes thank you that's the one. Looks like they sold out this drop which is why it wasn't coming up. Looks like I'll be shopping for something else regardless since it won't fit.

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

What are the dimensions of the space for the GPU? Still the same as the website? I'm looking at the MSI 1080 Ti on Massdrop right now and it ends in a few days, wanted to know if I should pick it up if it will fit in this case. The GPU's dimensions are 320mm x 141mm x 42mm

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

Would the NH-L9x65 work as well? I feel like having more fan to cover the heatsink would be better than a fan that covers half of it. Or would the NH-L 12 be better since it's blowing the hot air out of the case rather than into the motherboard?
  39. Y

GHOST S1 - When both size & performance matters

I've been lurking here for a while, but I just made an account so I could say that looks beautiful. Is there a reason you tested the NH-L 12? Seems like an odd choice since you can't use both fans
