Nope, that's not really how it works. It doesn't treat the Z drive as a mapped drive really. View composer just adds a second drive to the VM so it shows up as another physical disk.

According to Minitool Parition Wizard, I should be able to accomplish this using their cluster resize tool.

I was able to successfully shrink the partition back down to less than 15TB and I'm able to use it again in windows. I used minitool partition manager to accomplish this. I think my next step will be using this same tool to change the cluster size to 16k, and then expanding the drive.

I have a need to expand my storage volume above 15TB and my current cluster size is 4k. I need to increase that to 16k, but I don't have the means to backup this amount of data. Is there any way to do this without having to reformat?

Yea, once I can afford it, I'm going to get two more drives since I'm out of space already. One of those drives will be to move me to raid 6.

All I store on there is my media files, so RAID 5 makes sense. Won't loose everything if one drive dies, and won't be the end of the world if multiple drives die. Luckily, I bought these drives while they were still cheap. :)

Everything is hooked up. Cable management not done yet! :) The SATA hard drive connected to the motherboard for now is a 1TB drive for the OS. Need to get an SSD to put in there still. It's Alive! 7x 2TB drives in RAID 5.

Ordered the motherboard, CPU, and RAM today. Got the power supply and a couple of 80mm quiet fans already. Will take more pics when the new stuff arrives. :)

just got an email response from Norco. The switches on the backplanes are for the drive activity LED's.
