Hope they come out with an updated DP 2.0 model next year so you don't have to make sacrifices between 10bit or 120hz then it would be perfect. Have a 4" 4K 60hz at the moment but when it dies I'll look for a decent upgrade. Could fit a 43" perfectly
256-bit memory bus that would be capable of
384GB/sec at 12Gbps
448GB/sec at 14Gbps
640GB/sec at 20Gbps
With a 384-bit memory bus we can expect up to
576GB/sec at 12Gbps
672GB/sec at 14Gbps
960GB/sec at 20Gbps

Only thing they could do to beef up the 2080 TI would be to drop in another 1GB of memory taking it to 12 GB and dripping in faster GDDR6 at 16 Gbps, maybe OC the core a bit. But I feel they are saving the faster memory jump for their next gen 7nm cards. They only went to 15.5Gbps for the 2080S...
Slowly getting closer to having a card worthy of upgrading to...
Likely Big Navi or Nvidia Ampre for me.
AMD or Nvidia would have my money in 2020:
7nm+
12GB+ GDDR6 18Gbps
Display Port 2.0
Better than next gen console performance (should set you up for 5-7 years of games designed for that...
So back in High School (2004) I attempted to use [H] website's layout for a School Project. That web site is down but the page I started using is still up. As the future of hardocp is unknow I thought it was a good chance to share for us old folks that are still around. Been a tech geek for a...
Have a Valve Index on order and need to upgrade my SLI 980 Super Clock as its only just above the min spec for the headset. To run this thing at 144hz I need some serious horsepower. VirtualLink would be nice for my headset, AMD is unfortunately not using it.
Think I'm holding out until 2020 for...
Nice to see some competition with Asus and their 43” ROG Strix XG438Q 120hz. They have been dragging their feet getting that one released... Curious how Acer is going to get 144hz out of this thing at 4K when Asus couldn't? Unless they are running multiple display ports or HDMI? Assuming they...

I agree, I don't see this as a upgrade to the Rift. You can't even use your existing equipment with it.
I plan to jump in on VR once the Valve Knuckles and a Valve tracker compatible higher res (HP Specs+) headset hits the market.
No way Navi is getting this, all rumors report it will use DDR6 and targeted at low/mid range. This memory will cost more than an entire Navi card... Maybe for the next gen instinct cards.
However single stack HBM cards are now a viable option, may make mini-pcs and laptops even faster with...
Dang Maxwell got left out of Adaptive Sync and RTX :coffee: would have been nice to play around with some basic lighting demos. Although it may still work with Cry engine. Maybe Nvidia is trying to tell me something.
Now get off my virtual rasterized lawn!
Dug these old pics up from circa 2003~ on my archive drive, I was excited years ago! To the point of modding 1942. Will be sad with no cross-play however.
Waiting on a 7nm part to upgrade, feels like this will be one of the last decent jumps in performance as node shrinks get harder and more expensive. Hope to get another 4years our of my rig. Running 980s in SLI circa 2014.
Needs to run all current and near future titles and next gen console...
Hopefully we'll see decent performance from Navi and Nvidia will hopefully speed up the lifecycle of this generation due to lower than expected sales and some competition. Pretty sure a Turing jump to 7nm, with some extra cores tossed in, bump GDDR6 memory capacity (12GB+) and speed would...
5nm Radon Vega VIII inbound for 2020..... Joking aside I wonder if Nvidia will jump to 7nm or 5nm? Wonder what the power and performance difference between the two will be.
Well looks like Redit, Tom's Hardware, VideoCardz, and Guru3d are all now running with the ASRock RADEON VII news.
You saw it here first folks ;) guess they don't give credit lol
Considering most were predicting a Navi announcement with 1080 class performance and the instead they announce a GPU with 1080TI class performance people will be upset about anything. AMD is finally getting back on track and offering Nvidia some competition, Nvidia only has one card that can...
Yes, I have. There has been some improvement with new drivers and game optimizations however I game at 4K. Until we have a card that can turn on RTX at 4K without dropping below 60 FPS I have no use for the tech. Dropping $1K to run games at a lower resolution and refresh rate is a no go for me...
So how long lived do we think the first generation RTX series will be? Considering the entire line of cards launched within weeks of each other, a much more compressed schedule than previous generations.
Also due to the unimpressive Ray Tracing performance ($1,200+ to be barely playable at...
Finally if my Korean 40" 404K Ever dies this would make a good upgrade, pair it with a next gen GPU and you're golden. Freesync would be a nice to seal the deal.
Nice! Happy to see it worked for you, would have been an even better deal without tax sigh. Still way better thank the $630+ that they wanted a few days back.
Yeah, Unidays should work too, I have that and a discount through my companies site. Yay for working students...
Still want to pick up a 860 Pro and Evo to match my 850 Pro/Evo. Thinking they'll have good sales by Black Friday.
Want to ditch more of my mechanical drives.
My original WD Raptor...
I was out of PC gaming for a bit, got out during the COD modern warfare 2 days, and there was also entire series of games I had not played.
So when I built my new rig to run all the 4k goodness. I either played the first of the series or none of them.
Payed all the Mass Effect series , Deus...
