It really is, I had a team comp the opther day where there were 3 healing supports 1 adc and one terrible gangplank. lol, The good adc was in heaven because every time he was even slightly hurt it was a fight to heal him first haha

What type of load was the computer under each time, was it the same? Were you running a benchmark? Its hard to say how the ram was the being accessed, or if that was even the cause.
How it worked fine in one slot and not the other but the other worked fine in both slots really throws me off...
Agreed, unless you have dual bays and run one small ssd and one large spinning disc I don't see the benefit in 2 different sized ssds.
256 should be your best bet.
I don't see any problems other than I believe your board is Sata 2, so it will work just not at the Sata 3 speeds. The upgrade to SSD would still be VERY noticeable.

I have the Y510p haswell sli model and when the CPU even gets slightly under load it drops to 800mhz single thread. Shuts off multi thread and all.. This is with all setting set to high performance and minimum CPU set to 95%... Can't even compile larger programs without the computer freezing....
You would need a caddy to hold the drive in place, so you can screw the drive into the chasis of the laptop. Many laptops actually come with an extra caddy screwed in without the hard drive. I would check before you buy one.
