Everyone, I really appreciate all the offers. Thank you all very much. I never expected to get so many. We did manage to get an RX 580 within our price range from a very nice trader here within about an hour of posting this. Apologies for not updating sooner.
I realize the chances of someone having anything they're willing to part with right now are low, but I'm looking for an RX 570 or an RX 580 or an nVidia equivalent, in the sub $180 range. Working with my Nephew's dad to build him a gaming computer for his birthday, I've been able to get...
Up for sale is an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X. Never overclocked besides the stock boost clock @ 4.2GHz. Has been a very strong performer but I'm upgrading to a 3900X. It's currently in use until the new processor gets here this Sunday. I have the original box- the stock cooler is being used in another...
Looking to buy a graphics card for my wifes build, she doesn't do any gaming at all and the integrated graphics on the Ryzen 3 is giving me screen blackout issues. Doesn't matter to me what the card is capable of, just need it to be PCI-E.
PM me if you have anything available!

Bump. Also willing to consider offers. I pulled those prices out of the average ebay sales price. Not 100% sure what the going price range is for these parts.

Intel Core i7 5820K Haswell-E - $215 Sold
Briefly overclocked. Reached 4.2GHz stable, YMMV. Still works...
I come to you with perhaps a stupid simple question, but not sure how I should do this. Basically, I have a work computer that I'd like to image, so in the event of a drive failure, I can simply swap out the drive and re-image with whatever back up I have.
Number 1, is this the best way to do...

They work perfectly, mild overclock on both cards. If buying both I'll include an SLI bridge.

When I started using FreeNAS and ZFS no one had ever recommended ECC RAM. If I could find a LGA 1156 socket server board with ECC support I'd switch over. Otherwise I'm looking at a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM (about $415 on newegg) just to start running ECC RAM. It's just not in the budget...
Could you explain to me exactly what's wrong with my hardware choice? 6x 3TB WD Red drives, Core i3, 16GB of RAM, replacing the onboard sata controller with an HBA.
I don't see anything wrong with that. It's just standard PC hardware, and I'm running ZFS exactly because I don't have a ton of...
Perhaps one day. I'm not too concerned about it right now. Everything on my NAS box is replaceable and the important stuff is backed up to my cloud storage.
Granted the time spent on recovering my data from other sources would not be ideal, so I may do that sooner rather than later.
I guess I could get 2 more 3TB drives and go raidz2. I'd just have 6 drives total, but quite a bit more storage space even with raidz2.
Aaand there, ordered 2 more. As soon as I get my HBA installed I'll get those drives in and rebuild the dataset for raidz2. I pretty much lost everything a few...
Gotcha. I just ordered an IBM SERVERAID M1015, which I'll flash to just be an HBA.
Core i3, 16GB of RAM, generic Asus motherboard. Yes, I swapped all 4 drives.
What exactly makes it a "terrible idea" and asking for trouble? I've never heard of 3TB drives being a problem in raidz1.
Hello everyone,
So a weird issue has popped up that started a couple days ago. I'm running 4x WD RED 3TB drives in RAIDZ1. All of these disks are practically brand new.
I'm not suffering from any read or write errors on the disks.
Now, any time I add a large amount of data, I always end up...

Neither one would. The first one is 8 pin to dual 8 pin and the second is dual 6 pin male to 8 pin. You would need dual 6 pin female to 8 pin male.
Anyway, the guys above know what they're talking about. You can just grab a straight 6 pin to 8 pin and it will work without a problem. If it...
I haven't been able to use display port since all the way back when I had my 560Ti. Since then I've had 3 different generations of nVidia cards, pretty sure it still doesn't work.
I got the Asus STRIX 970 as it was the ONLY one in stock on Amazon that was also shipped and sold by them. I wasn't desperate enough for a new GPU to spend the $100 premium from other sellers.
