Been running mine since August with no issues. I was skeptical at first, but after gaming on this thing, I will never go back to a non-ultrawide monitor.
LG, Dell, Samsung 21:9 Curved Monitor Comparisons
AWIP II Specs
Over the last few months,. and with much help from this forum, I check out the LG 34UC97-S, Samsung S34E790C, and Dell UltraSharp U3415W 21:9 curved monitors, and eventually settled on the Dell. The issue with the power settings or screen saver not working, as well as sleep waking itself after...
Had the Samsung curved VA and although the blacks and lack of BLB were really nice, the overall performance compared to the Dell curved IPS has steered me away from VA panels. That said, if it were a 144hz @3440x1440 VA, I'd definitely reconsider.

So I'm in the midst of a monitor quest, and currently I have the Samsung S34E790C curved screen.
I had an LG 34UC97-S, but the back light bleed was unbearable, so I swapped it for the Samsung.
I was running through various programs and whatnot, putting it through it's paces, and all...

No mention of Hz rating on spec page. Also it's the FreeSync version. No mention of the G-Sync monitor.
Ok, so here's the deal with the Samsung S34E790C. Although it looks like it in the photo, there is zero backlight bleed. Size/curvature-wise, it's nearly identical with the LG, and is really nice to look at. It came out of the box with the brightness cranked to 100, so I dialed that down to 56...
My chat with Acer via their Facebook page on 6.19.
I asked when I would be able to purchase, and their reply was as follows.
Acer:
Hi,
We are expecting to have the XR341CK available in early or mid July. We will keep you posted when the product is available. :)
Thanks,
Acer
Me:
Thanks for...
What's the deal with IPS love? I truly do not understand. Yes, the colors pop a bit more, but the light bleed these things are plagued with is just un-bearable. For those that are all about the "truer" images that IPS can create, how doe light bleed factor into that equation? It seems to me like...
Thanks for the tip on the S34E790C. I'm bringing the LG back and swapping it for the S34E790C. I'll post the results once I have it up and running.
Cheers!
The problem with that is the scaling issues. The LG was a replacement for my Samsung U28D590D, which is a beautiful monitor. The only thing I have issue with is Adobe software and scaling. Photoshop menus and toolbars are microscopic, and there's no apparent rush from Adobe to fix it, so I''m...
With all of the positive reviews on this monitor, including Jay and Linus's videos, I picked up the 34UC97-S two nights ago, and after two days of feeling it out, it's going back. I really want to like it. It's huge, and the color and picture are beautiful. Movies, games, Photoshop, all...
