1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming and just general browsing and such. I will definitely be playing Civ VI when that comes out. Also looking to get Mafia 3 and maybe Battlefield One.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
I'd say...
Well I just thought I would update. I ended up puting in a 120mm fan even though the case doesn't offciailly support it and that seemed to do the trick. What I did is I changed where the hard drive wasa mounted and put a fan where a hard drive would normally be. The reported temps are definitely...
The heatsink appears to be installed correctly. I will admit that airflow in the case is terrible but that still doesn't change the fact that the reported temperatures are not that high.
HWMonitor reports that the CPU/GPU is getting to 47 degrees. HWMonitor's highest temperature it reports before throttling down is 59 degrees and that is from the motherboard. Core Temp reports the same temperatures.
It currently has the latest bios on it and I couldn't find any options pertaining to increasing the TDP. There are actually options available to OC the CPU and adjust voltages, which I have messed with before, but currently it is all stock. I've noticed this behavior for a bit now. Once I did...
Hey guys. I have a cheap HTPC with a Sempron 3850 and a ASRock AM1B-ITX motherboard. Normally, this works fine as I use it mostly just for streaming videos and browsing the web. Occasionally, however, I use it for some light gaming. I've noticed that after about 45 minutes to an hour or so...
Really? I'd argue that CDs and vinyl sound nearly identical when both are mixed and mastered the same. I understand from a theoretical standpoint that vinyl has the potential to sound better because it is analog, but I don't think that actually translates to a real world difference in sound...
People just need to stop preordering videogames. My brother always does that but after getting the Halo Master Chief collection, he's finally convinced not to do that anymore.
Thanks for the review. I bought the Toshiba Encore Mini about two weeks ago and it has much of the same specs as the HP Stream 7. The biggest difference is the Toshiba has a shittier display, only 16GB of internal, and a microSDXC slot. I can still return it and I'm thinking about returning it...
I remember reading somewhere that the only reason why they had to do this is because in Germany video games are still considered toys and not media art.
I somewhat disagree with this. I mean anybody who absolutely NEEDS internet for their job will likely live in an area that already has internet readily available. I mean, no computer engineer or computer scientist is going to get a job in the middle of a rural area of Wyoming or something...
I'm sorry if this has been asked here before, but I'm curious to know what your guys' thoughts are on these 9-12 week coding bootcamps that seem to be popping up. I'm not considering one of these, I'm actually a first year CPE student. I just thought it was interesting that people go to these...
Hmm. Looks like the deal's dead. Having said that, I bought mine on Black Friday last year and I'm sure you will see them on sale again this year. They really are awesome, reliable drives.
Well, although I would rather eat key lime pie, I see nothing wrong with Kit Kats. I don't get the big deal. A name's a name. In the words of Homer Simpson: "If you don't like it, go to Russia!"
Damn. I would have waited about two months if I knew this would happen. I doubt it will really affect resale value in the long run though, unless Google continues to sell the Nexus 4 after the Nexus 5 comes out, which I think is unlikely...
A little bit of back story: A couple months ago, when T-mobile started their no contract plans, I called them up and got them to give me the new no contract rates for the remainder of my 2- year contract (pretty nice of them). My monthly bill for four smartphones is now only $100, which can't be...
I was searching the internet and cam across this article about what people think about Windows 8 from a couple weeks back. Seems pretty interesting, since I only hear opinions from enthusiasts. My opinion on Windows 8 is really indifferent. I could see myself getting used to the interface. The...
Eh, I disagree. I think Windows 7 Starter runs decent with 2gb of RAM. Of course don't expect 64-bit to run with such little ram, but 2gb is enough for 32-bit Windows IMO. I remember my netbook was slow as hell before I put a 2gb stick into it. Still, it's slow sometimes at starting up, but once...
