    Corsair Graphite 600T

thanks for the link! =D The case looks sweet on the inside, not sure if I'm a fan of the "round" look. I like the sharp look of the 800d

Unlocked Phenom II X2 555 Seems Unstable

Unlocked cores on amds always run a chance of being unstable. I've heard that quite a few of the 3-core processors that are unlocked have problems such as the core running at lower clock speeds and stuff. You might have just gotten bad cores =/

    Unusual Problem

A lot of viruses/malware aren't detected by any antivirus programs. Go to start>run>type 'msconfig'>Go to the startup tab. Look for any programs that look suspisious, names such as DdsCtdE.exe are usually viruses. Just uncheck any that look like this and restart, see if that helps.

XSPC Rasa 750 RS240 CPU watercooling kit

Actually switftech kits are basically only cheap if you buy them used. I've seen a few here and on a couple other sale forums

XSPC Rasa 750 RS240 CPU watercooling kit

I don't have any actual experience with this kit but I've heard pretty good things about it for the price. Have you checked out any swiftech kits?

    Fan advice?

If you're worried about the noise, I'd definitely invest in a fan controller. It will help much more than new fans and will last you forever. This one is noted as very good by almost everyone, and its cheap Scythe KQ01-BK-3.5 "KAZE Q" Fan Controller I like these fans also: Scythe SY1225SL12M...

470 coming, what to do with 8800GT?

Build a spare pc. It's nice so people can come over and play older games like DOTA =D haha

When does processor become a bottlneck?

If you oc like some people have been saying you'll probably be fine. It would probably on bottleneck 3dmark scores or video benchmarks
  11. R

This power supply sufficient for GTX 570?

You'll be fine for now, but I wouldn't recommend buying a GTX 570 unless you're planning on upgrading your cpu =/ Your current one will bottleneck your framerate if you're playing on high settings/resolution. Probably should think about moving to an i3 or a Q9550 or something similar!

Ram speeds above 1000mhz have been shown to show almost no performance boost besides memory benchmarks, and the same goes with timing (cas latency). Voltage can easily go to 1.40v without harming anything, as long as the temps aren't too crazy. I've heard that you should try to keep it under...

    I7 870 Idle temps...

The hyper 212 is such a good cooler for the price if you get it on sale. If you can't I'd throw in $10 extra and get the Scythe Mugen 2. LINK Open box

Upgrade now? or wait for sandy bridge

atm video cards can't use the x16 bandwidth, but they probably will at some point. I've seem some SB benchmarks and the improvement is VERY little. I'm not sure if they will oc better or anything, but as of now I doubt they're worth waiting for.

    Decent processor for gaming

That Q9300 is instore pickup only, but if you live by a microcenter that is a super deal =D
  18. R

    Should I go for a GTX460 or 5770?

I'd get the 460 GTX hands down. The 1GB is good but costs quite a bit more than the 768mb version.
  19. R

    CPU bottleneck?

Maybe theoretically you might be bottlenecked a little but what other cpu would you get to stop it? You basically got as good as it gets, but I've never heard about anything being bottlenecked by an i7, even tri sli.

Which side has better drivers - Nvidia or AMD?

I have to say that I do not like ati drivers. Nvidia seems to address issues faster and release more "stable" drivers quicker.

I'm SERIOUSLY considering suing AMD...HD audio installation is a JOKE!

I've heard that the hdmi audio on both ati and nvidia cards use "crappy" generic hd audio drivers. I'm not sure what to tell you but I know a LOT of people are having trouble similar to you, or they are complaining that the audio quality is trash

RV02 owners: minimum PSU cable length?

I actually had similar problems with the HAF X =/ Specifically the 8pin mobo power was BARELY long enough going straight from the psu to the pin connector. It really messed up my cable management and squeezes my other cables that are under it. btw I'm using a BFG 1000w EX psu

NZXT Phantom case: lotsa airflow and perks.

I've always noticed that nzxt makes their cases look super nice in pics, but in real they are sorta cheap looking imo. The inside looks really nice though, I like the cable management

    Least important pc parts?

I'm building a "gaming" pc for my friend. I'm very familiar with hardware/software but there are a few things I need to ask the pros out there. We are trying to keep the build as cheap as possible, while still getting an sli board and one that can oc decently. We've been buying mostly used...

    I7 870 Idle temps...

Yeah this is definitely a little high. My h50 keeps my i7 930 (4.2Ghz @ 1.42v) at 43c ish. Under a load gets to about 74c.
  28. R

    I7 920 to 3.4?

I have an i7 @ 4.2Ghz on 1.42v with my H50. My idles are 43c and full load gets to about 74c. I'd say set the voltage to 1.375 and go for 3.8ghz, it should work.

    i5 750 vs i5 760

SB is definitely being overhyped. They are better, but only by a little. I've posted this but check it out, its anandtech benching the SBs LINK

What makes sandy bridge so good anyways?

Needmorecarnitine is right. Sandybridge is going to be better, but only by slight margins, like any new cpu series. Anandtech did some benchmarking with them and they are better, but barely. LINK

how to fix scuffs and scratches?

This is a good idea. It sucks how most cameras actually make the surfaces look all scratched

    Heatshrink size for ATX connector?

Uhh well if 1/8" is for each wire, then you'd probably need a pretty huge piece of heatshink! I'm not sure, probably be a good idea to go to a hardware store and "eyeball" it
  33. R

Too many cases come with the brand's "cheap" fans which can get really annoying. Always gotta be prepared to drop at least $50 more for new fans =(

    470 vs 6870

Yeah I've heard terrible things about stock 465's, but if you can unlock it to a 470 then its worth it =D And superclocked is just factory overclocked, so they are no different in actual hardware. Just get whatever is cheaper and oc it
  36. R

Video card recommendation for under $250

I'd buy 2x460 GTX's. These sli easily beats a GTX 480! Get them for about $130 each after rebates. Also don't get the superclock if you can get something else cheaper, they are the same chips and you can oc a normal one to the same clock as a superclocked one.

    Dremel Question

Also you can sand down small imperfections if you mess up a little with cutting.
  38. R

    Heatshrink size for ATX connector?

Well if you're doing each wire 1/8" is the standard for heatshrink i think

    Heatshrink size for ATX connector?

Are you sleaving each wire individually or all together?

    Fitting h70 in my case

Don't worry about the side panel fan, in actuality it won't make much of a difference. I'd also agree that it will fit, and you could even get scythe slipstream fans that are thinner than normal. I actually mounted my 2nd fan outside the back of my case to free up room inside and still keep...
