    27" iMac displayport Input

Did anything change with the video card compatibility when the iMac got refreshed this summer? Considering getting one and it would be nice to not have to replace my 5770 to use it on my PC if I wanted to.

Fallout: New Vegas To Use Steam DRM

This right here? This is the right way to do it. It provides the game company with a benefit (less unlicensed copies of the game) while also giving the consumer an incentive (unlimited installs, no media necessary) - it's a win/win, really. The company sells more games and the consumer gets...

    HP ZR24w

The second picture is with overdrive on. Overdrive just tries to overshoot the correct pixel color in an effort to make the (analog) LCD panel change colors faster. If the specific overdrive implementation doesn't switch back to the proper voltage fast enough, you get negative ghosting. This is...

Someone reported earlier in the thread that having the HP display utility installed was causing similar behavior. FWIW, mine doesn't have this issue, but I'm not using the utility.

Just tried that by setting my PC to 1920x1080, overscan is off by default, and it scales the picture (No black bars). Turning on overscan just cuts off more of the display. I think it may be the correct aspect ratio, but you're missing part of the picture all around the screen. This is the same...

    HP ZR24w

Just tried my Xbox 360 using a DVI-HDMI cable and an HDMI cable with a DVI-HDMI adapter, no luck. Setting the Xbox to 1920x1080 or 1280x720 disables the Fill to Aspect Ratio option. Strangely, you can still use overscan to scale to the height of the picture and crop the sides, you just can't...

    HP ZR24w

I didn't notice any ghosting or input lag on mine when I was playing League of Legends on it last night. Seems comparable to my L246WP in that regard. So far I'm really happy with it, apart from the displayport/windows 7 issue I'm having. Hopefully using DVI instead will fix that, though.

    HP ZR24w

So I got mine last night, and I'm having an annoying issue with it. I have it connected via Displayport to my 5770, and I have my old L246WP connected via DVI. Whenever I turn off the HP, Windows 7 decides that there isn't a monitor connected there anymore, and disables my extended desktop. This...

Last I heard was "a couple months" from someone in the thread here, and I think it's around $500 non-promo. Costcentral has the non-promo SKU listed, I just don't remember what the price on it is.

    HP ZR24w

The smaller pictures are of a Dell 2005WFP, not the HP. The first two are 14ms and 28ms, but it appears that in the 28ms shot the screen is in the process of drawing the same frame the CRT is currently on. It also appears that the timer did not try to display a [32] frame, since the residual...

Can anybody help? I'm having trouble using 1200x1920

It may also help to run the auto-adjust for clock and phase since you're using VGA, not sure if it'll change for portrait vs. landscape.

I placed an order with them anyways, I figure it's been going in and out of stock since it showed up so it'll be back in stock soon enough. I'll find out, I suppose.

    HP ZR24w

From what I recall, the Samsung was shown to have 16ms average and 32ms max lag (source). So I would assume the HP is around there, which is (imo) pretty good.

    Marvel AOC-SASLP-MV8 - 8 Sata PCI-E 4x non-raid controller card

It's essentially perfect for software raid situations (or situations without raid) like running ZFS on solaris (although as far as I know, the card still lacks solaris support) or running WHS (no traditional raid, but uses lots of drives) because you aren't paying for hardware raid support you...

    i7 920: idle @ 99!?

Neither of the cases you linked will fit in a standard 19 inch rack. Also, tower cases generally aren't designed to be placed in a rack, so they may have ventilation on the sides or top/bottom, which doesn't work in a rack.
  35. R

    i7 920: idle @ 99!?

Given that it's in a recording environment, I'm guessing you won't be overclocking it. If that is the case, your temps are fine. They're a little on the high side, so if you were going to overclock you'd want better cooling, airflow especially - you don't necessarily need a bunch of fans if the...
