I'm interested to see what you're currently mining with.
Please post your hardware specs, what or with whom you're currently mining, and current hashrate. Maybe even your cooling setup and current temperatures.
If another thread like this already exists, sorry! I didn't see anything. :D
We currently run a PepLink Balance 210 router/firewall combo. It has been absolutely fantastic, but is limited in features for VPN (PPTP only) and that is becoming a problem as we grow. Also, the firewall features leave a lot to be desired.
Budget is $2k.
50-60 on site users.
In the next 12 months we will be pursuing a complete replacement of our existing server hardware.
We are a 50 user SMB that does engineering and manufacturing. Our primary applications are SyteLine 8.03 (SQL), SolidWorks Enterprise PDM (SQL), and Exchange (2007). Not likely to expand to...
I'm having a problem with the following system and was wondering if anyone could shed some light.
Here's the specs of the FreeNAS box:
Dual E5405 quad cores
8GB ECC FBDIMMs
3 x 3TB Seagate ST3000s in RAIDZ
2 x 2TB WD Greens in RAID1
I'm using this box to...
I've just setup a couple of ZFS volumes and set them up as iSCSI targets connecting to a 2008 R2 virtual server for backup purposes. The volumes are as follows:
3x 3TB drives in RAIDZ
2x 2TB drives in RAID1
I am only seeing 20MB/s write speeds to the disks. This seems pretty poor...
I am upgrading my Server 2008 Standard SP2 x64 box (just runs SQL) and was wondering where the cheapest place is to buy a legitimate retail copy of Server 2012 Standard is? I see a lot of cheap ($200-500) copies on what appear to be legit sites, but my guess is these are OEM copies so not really...
I currently support a Server 2008/Exchange 2007 box with about 65 mailboxes. Things have been stable but a server upgrade will be in the near future (~1 year) simply due to the age of the hardware (this is in an Intel MFSYS25 all-in-one chassis).
Rather than spend the money on a new beefy...
The culture here at work has always been that if you want something backed up, it needs to be on the network drive.
On the flip side, in my experience, it is a best practice to have documents and desktop redirected to the server in case there are problems with a disk...
Exchange 2007 running on Server 2008 Standard SP2
Right now, our primary domain is companynameinc.com. I have recently purchased, acquired, and registered companyname.com and would like to start using the new domain for Exchange, while still allowing receipt of emails to all...
Does anyone have experience with the cloud managed Meraki enterprise APs? I'm looking at buying 3 for a small SMB. We currently have old Ruckus hardware and it is crap. I'm thinking of picking up 3 MR16s. What kind of experience do you have with them?
I am running an Intel Modular Server (MFSYS25 - http://ark.intel.com/products/48247/Intel-Modular-Server-Chassis-MFSYS25) as my primary host. I have 3 blades installed - one running Server 2008 Standard SP2 (DC, file and print), another running Server 2008 Standard SP2 (Exchange 2007), and...
So right now my backup needs are very simple (and I expect them to stay that way). It looks like this:
Asus UL20FT (Windows 8 Pro) laptop with 240GB Intel SSD
FreeNAS box with 2TB ZFS RAID1 (RSYNC copies data from my laptop to the NAS)
DropBox for commonly used files (documents)
I remember some years back people were flashing the firmware on their cheap GeForce cards to mimic the performance Quadro cards that cost many times more.
Right now I run IT in a shop that has a staff of about 15 engineers. The standard machine config I have calls for a Quadro 4000...
We (the company I work for) are in the manufacturing business and have a large staff of engineers and drafters. I'm a little out of touch in SW hardware requirements (SolidWorks 2012 x64) but here is what we run as a standard base machine:
HP Z420 (3.6GHz E5-1620, 16GB DDR3 PC2-12800...
Does anyone know of a good software package to use to audit nodes within an AD environment? I'm looking mainly for hardware specs and installed software. I'm aware that software like Kaseya can do this but I only need it as a 1 time thing and Kaseya is cost prohibitive. There's about 70...
I am looking for a quality desktop monitor stand for my 27" LG monitors. Does anyone have any suggestions? Obviously, the cheaper the better but I'd rather have something of good quality. I tend to like Ergotrons but they don't make anything for that size monitor. I only need height...
I am in need of 2 NAS drives to cycle out off site for backups. We have a dedicated backup server running 2008 R2 that runs ShadowProtect to a box with Open Filer and stores to local drives in that server (we're just backing up a DC/file server and an Exchange server - those boxes run on blades...
I am new to a company who has a fairly well-setup system. However, due to disk space limitations Redirected Folders were never setup. I added 2TB to the SAN last week and currently have plenty of space for redirected documents and desktop folders for a while, so I'm going to do it.
I expanded the disk on my 2008 box that hosts the company's shared files. The expansion went like any expansion would, however, only Disk Management detects the size of the drive as being 1100GB. Explorer still shows that the drive as 318GB. I have rebooted the box and rescanned disks and...
I'm new to this company and they have an Intel Modular server chassis (MFSYS25V2) with 2 blades. It was running out of disk space in the pool so one of my first tasks was expanding available space in the pool so we could then extend partitions. I installed 6 new drives and expanded the pool...
I have a client with an Asus Zenbook (UX31a). He is lives about 2,000 miles from his corporate office and is not savvy (and 84 years old), but every year or so something happens and his OS is hosed. I'd like a solution where he can just plug in a USB flash drive, reboot, and hit next...
I am working with a customer that has multiple CNC machines. The oldest one runs Windows 98 with a custom motherboard setup (It's a Fanuc). They need to add jobs to the machine and used to use a floppy drive, but the jobs are now bigger than the floppy drive can handle...
Question for you all. I have a client in the medical field that has a 2011 SBS with Exchange 2010. They used to use Google Apps and just had the new server installed (by me). Everything has been flawless with the transition with the exception of one thing - the doctors have an on...
I have a client that is a large paper company. They have machines called "Sheeters" which basically cut huge batches of paper into sizes appropriate for shipping.
There are two Sheeters and they are driven by Windows NT 4.0 boxes. It is a standard build of 4.0 with custom software...
I have about 30 Mac boxes in a Windows AD environment running OS X 10.5 and 10.6. All users (about 200) have a documents folder on the DC (\\DC\Users\%username%) with proper permissions to those folders. I can manually connect to the SMB share but since they often log into different...
So I'm aware that you can install a new HDD into a MB, and once the OS install is done use the migration assistant to transfer the information/programs/settings over. My concern is that I got a new HDD for my late 2008 2.4GHz unibody MacBook for Christmas and it has Snow Leopard on it. The...
I'm looking for a video card for my HTPC.
I play games *very* rarely but would like some gaming horsepower if needed.
Mainly though I need something with HDMI out with sound and something that can handle Blu-ray just fine (I know most can...).
My motherboard does not have an SPDIF header...
I have a client who is looking at purchasing a new laptop. Price is hardly an object, but I'd say below $2,000 is good. His requirements are as follows:
Thin and light
Powerhouse - no slowdowns
Built in cellular WAN
Smallish - he likes the size of my MacBook. Between 13.3" and 14.1" is...
So I have decent experience with VB.Net (but haven't touched it in a few years). I'm taking an Honors CS class that uses scheme... and it's making me angry (both lambda expressions and the syntax). My task is to write a program that calculates turkey servings based on the amount of people and...
So I'm thinking about going with a HK AVR-354 to be connected to my HTPC. However, I have "special needs".
I am planning on buying Klipsch Quintet III's and a Sub-12. However, I also want good left and right speakers for stereo listening. I'm looking at the HSU HB-1 MKIIs.
My question is...
I currently have Klipsch ProMedias which are very nice, but since I no longer game I find myself listening to music more and more.
For 100-200 dollars, what is the best setup? I am already planning on buying a Harmon Kardon 3390 which I can get for around $200 new through Best Buy.
I currently have a unibody MacBook. It's the 2.4GHz model, and in absolutely flawless condition (it looks like it was just taken out of the box!).
I'm starting college in the fall as a CIS major. Part of the major is doing programming (and a lot of it!).
I'm just wondering if anyone sees...
There's a ton of options out there. I want both a macro and at least a 200mm lens.
Do I stick with Canon branded lenses? Is Image Stabilization worth the extra money? I'm finding a lot of conflicting information.
Keep in mind I don't plan to keep the body forever (I'll go up to a 50D once I'm...
So today I got a new 1TB WD Green Power to compliment the one already in my media center PC:
HP Elite M9350F
AMD Phenom X4 9850 @ 2.5GHz
2x 1TB WD Green Power
As I was initializing the disk in disk management, I...
So I've got an HVR-1800 in my HTPC:
HP Elite M9350F
AMD Phenom X4 9850 @ 2.5GHz
GeForce 9800GT 512MB
1TB WD Green Power
Windows Vista Home Premium x64
The issue is this: I am using an OTA antenna (Terk TV5 if it matters). Media Center...
So I work at Best Buy and have some pretty good options for a receiver to hook up to my Quintet SL's with my Sub-12.
Yamaha 663 - $260
Harmon Kardon AVR 154 - $240
Harmon Kardon AVR 254 - $340
I know that the latter is 7.1, and while I don't care about the 7.1, it's a little more...
So I've posted a few threads here and went back an fourth on what I should and shouldn't buy... and I've made some purchases and will be in the future.
I'm just looking for some advice on what you think of my selections thus far.
Keep in mind my selections are made with BBY employee...
First off, my system specifications:
DFI P35 T2R UT
Intel Q6600 @ 3.4GHz
EVGA GTX 260
4GB Corsair DHX
Zalman 9700 NT
750w PCP&C Silencer
2 250GB RAID 0
So lastnight I get home from work and go to burn a disc and notice my optical drive isn't...
