Converting fat graphics cards to thin single slot by WC

Most cards take up two slots even with the HSF removed, due to the video outputs.

Gigabyte GTX 980 WaterForce Tri-Sli System

This looks like a pain in the ass to work with. You have to pull the GPUs through your 5.25" bay one by one and then you've got hoses sticking out the front of your case. lol

    maxwell & HDMI 2.0 4k usage

I have the 49UB8500. You are just talking about the labels by the HDMI ports right? Ignore them. I have no idea why they are there, but they make no sense. Port 3 is HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 compatible. The rest are not so don't use them unless you have to. My TV came with a little card saying as much.

GTX 970 SC ACX SLI has arrived from amazon.... but....

Well I've definitely seen similar issues with certain SLI bridges, like an older EVGA 3-way bridge. Also at 4K there is a problem with a lot of SLI bridges that NVIDIA has said they are hoping to fix in the next driver release (not sure if that meant the one that just came out or the one after)...

Not necessarily related to the problem, but what SLI bridge do you have? And what monitor?

    Rewiring house, suggestions?

Thanks, yeah I bet the rough edges will be sorted out by the time they roll it out here. On your guys' recommendations, I bumped it up to 26 CAT6, 7 RG6 and in-wall speaker wire for a 6.1 surround system... the installer wants ~$1500 in labor to install, but I provide the equipment (already had...

LG 39LN5300 pc resolution not correct?

Hmm, I didn't have to mess with any EDID business on mine. Are you using NVIDIA or AMD? How are you connected? I'm using a DVI-HDMI cable. My settings are detailed here: Note the bit about the RGB Full Range toggler...

    Rewiring house, suggestions?

Does this also apply to the network drops? I was planning on hooking the in-wall CAT6 drops directly to the patch panel on the rack. Just a little 2-bay consumer NAS for now, but if that ever fills up then I'd probably be looking at more. That's a little bit more than I'm planning on...

    Rewiring house, suggestions?

I am completely rewiring a 60 year old house (1-story, ~1300sf, 3/2 bed/bath, attached 1-car garage, brick veneer on slab), all of the ceilings have been taken down and the walls are open in some places. I have decided to wire the house with CAT6 solid UTP and RG6 and have all the runs end up in...

Anyone use an LG LN5300 for a PC monitor?

Just got this one (39" model) a couple of days ago, Fry's had it for $299 on the 4th. I hadn't done any research but it turns out this is a great PC monitor. It has low input lag, does 1:1 pixel mapping, 4:4:4 subsampling (even over HDMI with audio), great blacks, looks great (bezels are only...

Duke Nukem Forever PC Download Activates on Steam $10 @ Impulse

I don't understand the hating on this game... great level design, production values and a lot of fun. Easily worth $10 even if not the Second Coming it was hyped up to be.
