Dan A4 ITX Case - Custom Modified Hydrographics

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132323726271?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 Due to a change in plans, I have reluctantly decided to sell my Dan A4 custom modified case. I did consider keeping this in storage as it is such an awesome case, but felt that would be a shame for...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I got about 13 to 15 deg C on a i7 6600 non-k (this was the level of intel TIM coverage)

Oh and for FTW3 owners, set the card to the secondary BIOS. It permits a higher overclock.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Yep same for me with the FTW3, fits with one screw and could probably force a second one but little need tbh. Its a good tight and secure fit already. Just for info. As for temps when gaming, my card is o/c to 2050 MHz (with a +72 MHZ on the GPU, and a +96MHz on the MEM, no additional Voltage...

    Tight, but perfect fit!

I am interested. A SFF built from the ground-up to maximise use of water cooling would be new to the case market. Look at the Corsair One, if we had something but more custom for the self-builder, that would be awesome.

Just to add that with your comment With 4mm standoffs, this additional space does allow the Noctua a9 25mm thick fan to be used on the LP53, which is not possible on the C7 (which is slightly higher).

I get mine (supposedly) next week (UK). Will confirm then if no-one can before.

Adjusted the mounting of the panel sides using some strong magnets. This gives me an extra 3 to 4mm of air gap over the fans. Slight benefit in cooling (CPU less 2 deg C), but a nice audible reduction in fan noise.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

No, was a C7 with C7 standard fan, to a LP53 with Noctua fan in the interest of full disclosure
  13. H

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Yep, I went from a C7 to a LP53 and got lower temps.....(and less noise)

You can of course just paint it...........

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Ok, how about this as a pattern (crap effects I know, but you get the idea) Should help to provide additional airflow to the PSU and CPU areas, plus that way it also caters for different vertical positions of the CPU placement on the mobo.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

All my point was that in the end, fin size matters. As long as you have sufficient pipes to flow the heat into the fins. This is why the Thermalright Shaman is a better cooler with the greater pipes as it also has the greater fin area to disperse that transmitted heat and why 8 pipe would be...

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

FULL COPPER please. No problem with sourcing the fan myself.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

While I don't disagree on the 4 pipes will out perform 8 pipes in the same sized cooler due to a greater fin surface area, it must be the case therefore that if you have also have a larger cooler with a greater fin area and additional pipes, that it will be a better cooler?

It is exactly what I am using. Is tight, but fits with no bowing of the side case panel.

Got money to spare and want a kick ass full copper CPU cooler and with 4mm standoffs? Get LP53 + NF A9 PWM (over 35% greater air flow over the thinner Noctua)

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Strange. You sure that the delid/paste etc is all ok? Only that I have run a o/c Skylake i5 from a 92mm rad before (twin 25mm fan tho), and had no issue with temps.
  23. H

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Can confirm that. Was running with the Cryoig + TY-100 fan and was getting a max of 71 deg C (prime 95, delidded + liquid metal + no I/O shield + 4mm Standoffs + hifi feet), with "ok" noise levels (but which was SIGNIFICANTLY better than the Cryoig + C7 fan). I have previously tried AXP-100H...

I used the TY100 100mm fan above PSU + lowered PSU. Fits also fine.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Yes, which is why many (myself included), run without no rear IO panel.
  27. H

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

    Thats not bad, with a i7 6700 (non-k), I'm hitting a max of 72C (delid, C7 cooler, 4mm standoffs) w/ prime95
  28. H

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Yes, the bar was removed. It is not needed for the strength or rigidity for mounting the PSU. With it in place, a 12mm fan fit no problem, but the ridge creates noise. Not sure how much of a difference, but if you place your hand over it you can feel the heat being pumped out, so I would...

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

I have tried this before. Please do test it, but I have found that the "edge" of the blade seems to creates wind turbulence and so adds noise. Not a lot, but what it does is to increase the pitch of the sound.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Yes, I have seen the video, but this only covers the IS-VC45 However Ozymandias post had mentioned the ID Cooling IS-50. A different cooler design completely. Might still be crap, but will find out this weekend!

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Is this from personal experience? If so, what is the basis of this statement and on what configuration? I have one on order, and with the 4mm standoffs, you can actually even fit a duel 100mm Scythe 12mm fans as a push-pull solution (one underneath just fits) . Would be a tight fit with a 1mm...
  33. H

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Meccabolix: I wonder what impact the 4mm standoffs will have on the C7 noise level, but especially pitch? Not interested in temps as there will be only small changes, but the noise might change a lot. Interested as I, and I guess many others have the C7 and are wondering what our next move...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

That would be great. If possible, it would also be very interesting to know if the temps increase with it fitted? Also, many thanks for all this effort you are putting in on behalf of the community!

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

As shown and with the design you specified, I will be ordering one! Is it worth another Kickstarter, that way you have some level of commitment from the community and can gauge true interrest?

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Do you think there would be an issue running the bare heatpipes withiout the top aluminium section? Maybe poor heat dissipation accross the pipes?

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Is there any update as to when the Window kit may become available, and also what sort of price it will be? Guessing Dan will switch focus onto this when all the boxes are gone, but was pondering mabe getting some glass cut myself for the sides.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Just wondering, if any UK Kickstarter members have received their case? Got my initial DLH shipping notification 10 days ago, but heard nothing since (know Dan has been ill), but just checking.
