For me, I would like to see the environment/landscape/city etc. change as your actions evolve. This is done already to a modest degree in some games, where you can build up towns a little, NPC's are walking around, but it would be nice if it were a bit more robust. Some realism would be nice...
Just started playing a few days ago. Like others, it's been awhile since I've played an FPS like this; first time for BR as well. Is it me or do people pretty much stay put? I'm not saying they're camping, but doesn't seem like there is a lot of activity aside from the first few minutes.
In general I agree with this. I amassed a large wishlist of games until I was able to build a new PC. After I built the PC, I started playing the games from my list and noticed there was a level of familiarity as he stated. I started gravitating towards games that were more story driven or in...
So let's say I do the Corsair H100i. The case comes with 1 exhaust fan in the rear and there are 2 intake fans in the front.
A) mount the AIO radiator on top, if yes, in a exhaust or intake orientation
B) mount the AIO radiator on the front, assuming an intake orientation...
If I went with the 8700k, what CPU cooler would be recommended? I am not familiar with AIO's, so I was still thinking HSF. I was going to go with a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Tempered Glass case. If I went with the Trident Z memory, what cooler would provide clearance for this?
Edit: What about...
I might OC in the future. Honestly, I have never done it so I am unfamiliar with the process.
Does the Strix Z370-H pose any problems? I didn't see a reason NOT to get it, but searching around the internet it seems that there are differences of opinions, but none substantiated by multiple...

2) What's your budget? 2-3K, possibly a bit more
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible. Austin, TX

So literally out of the blue I have had some connection issues with my desktop. I have made no hardware changes, software changes, OS updates, etc...
Here's what happens as an example, I wake up the computer from being asleep and I have no desktop internet access. However, the wireless still...
Hey SinisterDei -
I've been educating myself since these lasts posts, including reviewing your part selection (which I appreciate BTW).
Couple of questions:
1. With regards to the memory selected, why DDR-2666? Any reason not to go beyond that? (I vaguely recall the importance of CAS...
Do you think performance will be an issue in the future regarding the quad core?
I'm not sure I want to game in 4K, but I am interested in a single card solution.
I appreciate all of the effort put into the detail provided.
Portability is not a factor for me. It's going to sit tight...
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming
2) What's your budget? 4K
3) Which country do you live in? Austin, Texas. Access to Fry’s, but that’s it.
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget?
No argument there. My whole purchase strategy was centered around getting this machine up and running as fast as possible in the context of having recently moved to another state with my family, plus getting ready for orientation at my new job. Waiting even 2 or 3 days on Amazon for parts was...
We're getting closer :) Thanks for your input.
How about this...I purchase a monitor at Best Buy (at least $200 to qualify for the 6 months) and get the PSU and Video card from Frys. I would like to get the other two components for less than $200.
Perhaps stick with the Antec PSU for $90...
How about this...I have a $75 credit at Frys. Can I at least get a PSU from there (pay cash), such as this one
Then buy a video card and monitor from best buy?
My only hesitation about raising the budget is the fact that most of the hardware in my machine is from 2010, and some of it from...
I'm not sure marketplace items count or not.
I really don't want to open up any more accounts. I have a frys and a best buy here, but no frys credit card. I recently moved therefore I need to hang on to my cash until I get settled in.
The combo that you mentioned above...can you provide...
Basically, I moved out of state and something happened to my machine.

Appreciate the rec. Really trying to repair this thing tomorrow as I don't have time to wait until the weekend for amazon shipping.
Haven't researched PSU's in quite some time. Any other brands that are all around "good"? Antec, Corsair, etc... Just asking because I can get those at Fry's...
This is from memory since I can't use my rig to find out, and I believe I upgraded it back in 2009?
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3
HDD: can't recall, SATA though
RAM: g.skill ripjaws; I think 4 GB
Video: ATI Radeon 5850
That's what I can remember
PSU: (the dead one - Antec Earthwatts 650)
Bought it locally at Fry's as my previous PSU went out. Limited to what is in stock over there. Don't want to spend more than $80 on the PSU as well. I guess I could order something off of Amazon if need be.
Ideally I would purchase the Dell XPS 13 (2015) if I had the budget to do so, but my budget is ~ $600 (slightly flexible).
I desire something lightweight, portable, reasonably good battery life, good keyboard and reasonable performance. Windows preferable.
I do not need a touchscreen, DVD...
