    ZFSguru NAS fileserver project

I don't consider myself to be more knowledgeable, however I installed SABnzbd the same as you and found after I gave the _sabnzbd account (created during install) appropriate permissions to the download and completed directories, everything worked fine. What failed for you when you tried, did...

    FreeBSD ZFS NAS Web-GUI

I'm having trouble booting from the new image. I'm trying to write the image using dd on OS X. I have tried: - 2 different USB drives, one of which ran build 1.5 successfully. Both register and can be formatted in OS X fine. - Redownloading the image twice. - Building with command: dd...

    FreeBSD ZFS NAS Web-GUI

Thanks for the detailed response sub.mesa. I really admire your willingness to help people on these forums. Think I might use NFS for private data shares (only going to be accessed by my OS X client) locked to UID & GID and perhaps IP/MAC based fw rules set for my machine, and use NFS & Samba...

    FreeBSD ZFS NAS Web-GUI

I actually installed an Intel X25-M G2 80GB SSD the other day. I know OS X doesn't have TRIM and there isn't heaps of space left on the SSD (25%) but I would hope it'd perform better than 60MB/s. Might need to run a benchmark to be sure. Also re-test performance with a crossover cable to...

    FreeBSD ZFS NAS Web-GUI

Have v0.1.5 and got most things set up... zpool, zfs datasets, shared through samba to a Mac OS X client. Copying data from the Mac to the NAS over Gigabit was very slow, getting approximately 10-15MB/s. Enabled nfs sharing for one of the zfs dataset and started a transfer, getting around...

    FreeBSD ZFS NAS Web-GUI

You mentioned redesigning the website, would it be possible to have access to a 'test lab' of sorts? Perhaps your mesa environment running in a VM with access to a few small disks so people can play with it? There'd be some risk involved, but if you set it up properly it could work well. Set up...

    FreeBSD ZFS NAS Web-GUI

May be due to geographical location as I'm in Aus. One internet connection here is getting the aforementioned speeds, another is averaging 300KB-500KB/s so could be local or international congestion for the services in question. Happy to do my bit seeding for other Aus users if you do decide to...

    FreeBSD ZFS NAS Web-GUI

Have you considered mirroring the downloads somewhere, or distribute through bittorrent? I get download speeds of 120KB-150KB/s off your site which isn't too bad but I'm sure would be a lot faster from a better source or multiple sources. If you did mirror it, would save you bandwidth as well...

    Another ZFS NAS

Hi Guys, been reading for a while and learnt a lot. I’ve worked out the following, but still have a few questions and after some general feedback. I no longer require a desktop computer any more. I don’t really play any games my MacBook Pro can’t play. My desktop currently has 1.5TB...

Looked at the firmware on the SM controller? Tried it in a different PCI-E slot?
