Your Laptop Picture [H]ere (read first post for rules please)

I think you'll love it. I know that a few colleagues of mine have one, and it's amazing. Cache drives always help: especially when it comes to boot-up/shutdown speeds.

I agree! Awesome product! :) And, yes, that is what it looks like to me. Try installing Rainmeter, browse the skins, and see what version of this you can find!

Here's my workstation for the Summer months. I might add a few things, though (I sure as hell want to find a new place for my speakers - having the monitor block them isn't ideal).

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the three projectors. That is such a cool and unique design that I have yet to see anywhere else. Though, do you have issues with glare? It seems that (personally) every time I've gone to use a projector on either a wall or a whiteboard, the picture gets washed out because of...

    Advertisements in Spanish

Sometimes, when I visit the forum,. my advertisements at the top of the page are appearing in Spanish. It happens more frequently when there is a Volkswagen advertisement atop the page. I'm not sure if anyone else is getting the same thing, but I've attached a picture:

300 Workers Threaten Suicide at Foxconn

I know this is pretty ride, but, after reading this article and looking at their picture on the homepage (http://www.foxconn.com/) - the one where everyone is looking up into the sky - I can't help but think: "...look at them go."

300 Workers Threaten Suicide at Foxconn

Yeah, it is sad when you think about what goes on over there. But they're typically "forced" to work in such crappy conditions if they want to make any money.

Canadian Man Uses iPad to Enter US

They do have records. Nobody said it was well-kept :D Nevertheless, I remember once I was driving back from Canada with a trunk full of applicances, food, and other things that don't need mentioning. They asked me if I had anything that I wasn't supposed to be carrying. "Nope," I replied; and...

    laptop with 2 hdd bays?

I was going to suggest the Falcon Northwest DRX, but seeing as you are trying to keep the cost down, it might not be what you're looking for. (They start at $3,100+) http://www.falcon-nw.com/laptops/drx

Can My Daughters PC Run This?

Let's start off with The Sims 3 by looking at it's specifications: Your system has adequate RAM, Hard Disc Space, and graphics processing power. You should be fine. Now, onto Adobe Creative Suite. I use a system comprable to this at work (It's an HP Touchsmart w/ Beats Audio) and it has...

Canadian Man Uses iPad to Enter US

Why even blame the Agent who let him in? He was perfectly in his legal capacity to do so, and it wasn't like the guy didn't have ANY proof at all. It was aformentioned that Customs officials have access to every passport in the entire world. I could see if he gave him an "I-Owe-You" or...

Google Pays Bloggers To Promote Chrome?

I have the same issues: The only issues that I am running into with Chrome as my main browser is the occasional (and sometimes frequent) crash of Shockwave Player. Not too big of a deal, though. It's less of a memory hog than Firefox - which, up until recently, was actually fairly...

Canadian Man Uses iPad to Enter US

This is actually a pretty cool story. I might try this with my tablet (even though it's not an iPad) the next time I drive up to Canada. But I'll be sure to take my actual passport along with me, just in case the officer doesn't want to make "another exception."

Windows 7 Catching Up To Windows XP

I couldn't agree more :) Currently, all of the machines that I run from home are powered by Windows 7 and Windows XP. I used to have one laptop that ran Windows Vista but quickly gave up on it because it gave up on me (in other words: it gave the most trouble with slowdowns, viruses, and many...

Sony Cuts Tablet S Price by $100

That's EXACTLY what Apple does, in my opinion. The tablet isn't worth this kind of money. I have a feeling that they'll eventually have those "fire sales" to stimulate interest or to rid of stock. It's only a matter of time ....

Is Chrome Poised to Pass Firefox in 2011?

Chrome is my go-to browser for everything nowadays - it used to be Firefox. But, as many have said, Chrome is constantly freezing and crashing; all of these bugs are making it less desirable to use (at times) than Firefox. If they fix the bugs, it will no doubt surpass Firefox.

best computer for gamers under $3k

As many have said, FalconNW is an excellent place to purchase a pre-built PC. A relative of mine purchased the FragBox and it is gorgeous (though, he didn't opt for the expensive paint job :D). High-quality components and easy-to-deal-with customer support. Also, don't they make all of their...

Apple Files Another Lawsuit Against Samsung

You can also take into account what one person said in the article comments: Samsung has a large array of products - Televisions, Home Appliances, Computers, Cell Phones, and they even made cars at one point (though, that venture was short-lived). So, Apple seems to be taking the larger risk if...
