CS:GO Receives 14,000 Negative Steam Reviews in a Single Day after Going Free to Play

Honestly cheaters already ruined the game for the most part even before this update, cheat providers that have never been detected for the game's whole lifetime still exist to this day, but it is sure to get worse now. And I think Valve knows this, and instead of putting money into the game to...

    RTX 2080 - 2080 Ti - 2070 Pricing Revealed

Hopefully this will be like GTX280/60, AMD is around corner with their cards, and Nvidia is forced to sharply drop prices, no way I'm buying at these prices.

ASUS RTX 2080 Ti & 2080 on Amazon

    PSU ECO Mode safe?

Been using a seasonic with that feature for a while, never heard the fan come on, I think the fan on my unit responds to temperature rather than load, which would alleviate your concerns. I think it safe either way, it would somewhat depend on the temperature rating of the PSU, but most of the...

Nvidia SIGGRAPH 2018 Livestream Starts at 4 P.M. PT

Would be real scummy move on part of Nvidia not to provide a sample, as means of retaliation, and would only paint their already negative image only more so.

    A partial failure possible?

I don't think pads (assuming you mean thermal pads) will solve your problem. If the inductor burned up, it should be somewhat obvious to the naked eye, it would require a replacement inductor.
  10. D

    A partial failure possible?

It would be towards the power connector under the cooler(just google gtx900 inductor failure or something). You should know used cards cost significantly less right now, so the card you buy will drop in value a lot as soon as you open the box, the upside of that Evga card is that it comes with...

Turing based GPUs will carry a higher price than Pascal during the cryptocurrency craze

I'm sure they will have games launching with the card, and maybe some games already out adding the ability to use RTX, otherwise it wouldn't be a selling point. I doubt performance will be much different form Titan V in games, that don't use RTX.
  12. D

    A partial failure possible?

Well, Gigabyte does have a 3 year warranty, unless that expired. Common failure among 9xx series cards was a burnt up inductor, something to consider, although I'm not sure if it would exhibit symptoms like yours. Unless you are waiting for the new gen, prices have come down a lot recently.

Turing based GPUs will carry a higher price than Pascal during the cryptocurrency craze

From today's presentation, seems to be completely new chips.
  14. D

    A partial failure possible?

Does indeed sound like the card failed, most likely the power delivery. You can try reducing power cap/voltage to see if that may stabilize it. Or if the core itself is unstable you can try raising the voltage, which 970 should allow.

Nvidia SIGGRAPH 2018 Livestream Starts at 4 P.M. PT

One of the slides had 48+48, which I'm pretty sure referred to memory, so the Quadro will have up to 48GB, and "+" is for NVlink for combining other cards memory. So pretty close. Not sure if they can combine more than 2 cards.

Turing based GPUs will carry a higher price than Pascal during the cryptocurrency craze

I think ray tracing will be enabled on the whole lineup, but lower end will probably be less than stellar performance, and not optimized for it. It's kind of impressive, if true, that they are going to segment the lineup with the amount of memory, pressure to buy high end was never so high...

    Anyone have an RX560 (14cu)?

That PSU should be able to power an RX 580 no problem. With that said, you should be able to run older games on the 560, but it's performance is below the regular 1050 in most titles, especially older ones.

    Pci-e locks (rant, Asus!)

They do serve a purpose, besides transport, many times the case is slightly bent, or just not perfect, without the lock tab the card can come out of the slot and cause instability when screwed in. I'm not sure why OP had to use that much force. Was it still screwed in?

    Thumb drive screwed?

I honestly don't know why you are having this issue, but one thing you should consider is there a quite a few fake drives out there, which are just 32GB with flashed firmware so they seem like 256GB. Was this bought from a reputable dealer? Have you ever actually filled it to capacity?

    MT ? failed?

Something is failing or just mis-configured, but it's not necessarily the ram. If you run memtest again you need to observe it, to see if any errors are produced, that way you can rule ram out.

Keyboard split between arrows and control?

There is ASUS claymore which has a detachable numpad, but that board cost too much, of course separate numpads are also available. Most of the "split" keyboard design are split in the middle for ergonomic reasons. I don't think enough people care about arrow key portion of the keyboard honestly.
  30. D

    MT ? failed?

Did the PC crash/freeze? It doesn't necessarily mean bad ram, it could have been a number of PC issues that cause the failure. memtest tests the memory, but in a way it's also a torture test. You need to observe during the test for more data.

    Biometrics in mice

I think that's a terrible idea, but to each their own. You can find keyboards with built in fingerprint readers, and they are not very popular. They are more common in laptops, but still not much. The reason, I think it somewhat works for mobile devices, is because you can take them with you...

    25 B-450 Boards Analyzed

Yeah, but those mosfets are still doing work and expanding the output capacity of the VRM, maybe that VRM is not perfectly tuned, and will not have as precise of a voltage, but those mosfet chips is the only reason that VRM can output as much power as it does. Besides the voltages are still in...

Would you purchase a card that was used for mining

I remember buying GPUs used for folding at home, they all worked fine for me. But the thing is I have never had a single GPU die on me, and I bought used more than once, honestly I don't know how people manage to kill them. But this current trend of "don't buy mining GPUs" is not out of...

Thoughts on the Logitech G Pro TKL? ... Or similar options?

You can try the older version of the same keyboard G410, many prefer it over the G pro. It was discontinued in favor of the G pro, but you can still buy brand new ones easily. And about RomerG switches, they have great reputation as far as I'm concerned, they are extremely underrated, mostly...

    25 B-450 Boards Analyzed

The biggest determining factor of VRM's quality is number of mosfet chips and quality thereof, that is assuming you want maximum stable power available. Having less chips can make VRM more power efficient.
