I almost bought that card with the intent to put an accelero iv on it. Would have come in at $700 tho, didn't make sense when the custom cooled cards are like $720. Still pissed at myself for not jumping on the xlr8 card when it was $639.
Regular 1080 at around $480 is a better buy IMO than a 1070, and should be plenty for those games even at Ultrawide 1440. My kids PC has GTX 780 and it runs Overwatch max settings at 75 HZ, 2560x1080 no sweat. Gtx 1080 is close to 2.5x faster than a 780.
We just now have a GPU that can run 4k ultra at 60, how long till we have one that can do it at 100-144? 3-5 years? Personally I don't see the advantage of buying 4k to run at 144hz for games like CS:GO where you turn all the details down to get high frame rates.
I'd buy a 40" 4k at 75hz with...
No need to spend that much, the HP Omen is you're best bet at that size. 75hz with freesync.
If you want to go 34" ultrawide 3440*1440, there are a couple options that do 100hz for around 700-800. Microboard and crossover both make good ones.
