I've had this problem with my system since I built it, but it seems to have gotten worse lately.
When I start up my system, it powers up but doesn't POST. The code on the motherboard LED display is 90 (which corresponds to "Completed uGuru initial process: AWARD BIOS taking over boot job")...
This afternoon I upgraded my power supply from an older Antec one to a Corsair TX750W and my video card from an BBA X850XT to an Asus EN9800GTX+.
None of my other hardware changed, but I did take everything out to clean/dust.Nothing seemed to take an damage coming out or going back...
I can pick up a new BBA X850 XT Platnium PCI-Express today at Microcenter for $100, after $50 MIR and $50 gift card I have.
Are these cards still kicking ass? Will it last me through the holidays?
I'm also going to need to pick up PCI-Express capable board and I'll nab a friend's 3500+ for...
So, I finally decided to bite the bullet. Added a new HDD, and did a fresh install of XP.
Long story short, I can now see the bad SATA in Windows Explorer.
I tried copying userinit.exe, and renamed the fresh copy to wsaupdater.exe
Any more ideas?
It started as such: I was having general internet wonkiness, so decided to restart. Upon getting back to my login, hitting enter (no password), it attempts to log me in, goes through the motions, and then logs me back off and restarts.
I try in safe mode. Same thing, sans restart.
