My 1.5 year report: Still working great. No burn in that I can notice. I mainly do development work on it, web browsing, and occasionally gaming...
Looks nice. Good price too. I'd wait for some reviews to show up first though.
It does take a few seconds to turn on, but it just displays the Phillips logo during that time. Very occasionally, it displays garbage and...
Windows 10 has per display font smoothing settings, so it's not a problem (I have 2 RGB monitors and 1 BGR). I have font smoothing turned off on...
Sure is. No issues that I can see. I use it for multiple hours a day for work (been working a lot lately). In fact, I'm using it right now!
Forgot to mention, I also have a Win 10 desktop, with 2 RGB monitors on each side of the Philips. Also not a problem, as Windows 10 allows for per...
I have a Macbook Pro, which is RGB. I just turn font smoothing off. Looks fine to me.
Tried to run the game at 4k, and my rig immediately keeled over :( Had to settle on 1440p Ultra (except anisotropic filtering at 16x). Frame rate...
Unfortunately, overclocking is always a gamble. Sometimes you win, some times you lose.
I'm in the exact same boat as you :( Except I don't have G Sync on my monitor.
Maybe I missed it, but what resolution are they running at?
Just got my 1080 in anticipation for this game. Hope I can run it at 4K with Max settings.
Just checked. It looks like the voltage is pegged at 1.081V under load.
OC wise it's a lottery. There is no guarantee (mine only hit 2000). I'd just get the cheaper one.
I can't remember what the actual voltage was. I'll have to look when I get home. I don't think I want to do a hard mod though.
I maxed out the power and voltage sliders in Afterburner (108 power, +100% voltage). I later lowered the voltage limit to +75% once I settled on...
Gigabyte G1 here.
The best I could get is 2000 on core. 2050 core causes artifacts in both Valley and Fallout 4 (red or white "snow" that pops...
I tried that. Memory overclock had no effect on the artifacts. It's entirely caused by the core overclock.
EDIT: Tweaked it a little more....
Good for you! I also got mine today and have been tweaking it. Unfortunately mine doesn't seem to overclock well. It was stable at 2050 core /...
If you are willing to turn down a couple of settings (like AA), 4K should be definitely doable with a single GTX 1080. That's what I'm doing anyway.
GTX 1080 now or wait for Vega?
15% frequency lift would be pretty large for the same uarch. Keep in mind these are not CPUs, where traditionally there are many parts of the chip...
OP here, thanks everyone for your input! I decided to just enjoy what's out right now instead of waiting for the next big thing. Just ordered a...
Perhaps I should wait until Deus Ex is released later this month and see if I can play it at a reasonable fidelity level. If so, I'll wait a...
The Titan X, in my mind, goes over the perforce/value threshold so I won't consider it.
You guys make some good points. It seems like I should...
I generally like keeping my GPU for a while. I mean, I'm still running my 5-year old 7970 :p
That's a good point. Price is not of huge concern, but I also like to not spend frivolously.
I'm just concerned that I won't be able to run Deus Ex and Dishonored 2 without greatly reducing the image quality.
No FreeSync or G-Sync. I'll only be gaming on the 4K monitor in the center. The other monitors are for productivity only.
While that would be amusing, it's not one of the options :p
Voodoo 3 2000 PCI
GeForce 256 SDR
Radeon 9600 XT
Radeon X850 Pro
Radeon X1950 Pro
Radeon Radeon 3870
Here's my situation: I have a 4K monitor that I got mainly for work. I don't play games nearly as often as I used to, but every now and then I...
3Dfx Voodoo 3 2000 PCI :p
Same here, no problems so far with mine either. Now my problem is to whether get a GTX 1080, or wait for Vega or 1080 Ti. I don't have time to...
I just turned off font smoothing in OS X.
The whole thing is overblown. I have a BGR monitor and have no real image quality complaints. I work in OS X and play in Windows 10.
Is the dot permanent? Good luck on your replacement!
Since I work from home fairly often, I'm pretty sure I've hit 100 hrs of usage.
