Verify and/or try converting the disk to GPT. you will only be able to boot newer Windows OSs on a GPT volume, but if you are running the one...
Depending on the OS you used (e.g. 32 bit) the largest partition size may be limited to 2TB. I believe this is not the case for GPT volumes in 64...

Gigabyte has been consistently good. The P55 board would pair great with the i7-860 and the 880 board would make a nice base for a new AMD build....
