Gauging interest in build-your-own case kits

A few questions - apologies while being a n00b: 1. Are there options to include or incorporate filters for fans? 2. How heavy would a case (including MB plates and such) weigh like the ones shown in post #127/128? 3. This is coming from some anonymous stranger, but have you considered a dual...

    Dual zone/chamber case & Noctua DH15?

I saw that, but it doesn't fit the DH15. If only they made it an inch wider, ugh. I suppose I could try and make a custom panel with a space/indentation to allow the height of the cooler.

    Dual zone/chamber case & Noctua DH15?

Currently using a Meshify C, and I like it. But want to get some more air on my GPU, and I'm not the biggest fan of a PSU shroud, I feel like it's wasted space. Having a second zone/chamber allows for better cable management IMO. I know the PC-011 XL can fit a DH15, but that's something a bit...

    PCIE 4.0 M.2 NVMe Gen 4 Question - heating/cooling?

So as I understand it, the newer Gen 4 NVMe run a bit hotter than previous generations. I've seen some on Amazon with an option to come with a heatsink, and my MSI Unify has 3 heatsink covers for the 3 M.2 slots. But it seems (from what I've read) that cooling down these drives, or certain...

CPU pins damaged, PCI-e slot not working

I'm still in 30 day period for returning my Asus X570 to Amazon - and will def be doing so. That's some shady stuff right there. Got my MSI Unify in.

3700X motherboard - stick with ASUS Tuf Gaming-Plus or go with MSI Unify?

Well it would only be a either a pull or a push - the case doesn't have room for a push/pull setup. Strange, I've wanted a Caselabs Bullet for a while now, and now that I have it, it's almost like it's not living up to expectations (which were set and held by me and only me). The case is quality...

CPU pins damaged, PCI-e slot not working

Have you heard of other mobo makers pulling this? Or is it just with Asus?

CPU pins damaged, PCI-e slot not working

Woah. Crazy. Glad I switched out my Asus X570 for a MSI X570 (Amazon return policy FTW). I'm sure no company is 100% innocent, but that... that raises my eyebrows.

CPU pins damaged, PCI-e slot not working

As in, they or someone underneath them, intentionally does that? Or some sort of unkosher things going on at Asus? Not picking a fight, genuinely curious.

3700X motherboard - stick with ASUS Tuf Gaming-Plus or go with MSI Unify?

You're right, d'oh! I guess that would provide better cooling for the 3700X and make it a bit quieter than the Noctua, wouldn't it?

3700X motherboard - stick with ASUS Tuf Gaming-Plus or go with MSI Unify?

Yeah, I've been jonesing for a Caselabs ever since they went out of business. I should've went with a BH8, but for some reason didn't pull the trigger. Quality materials, smart design... just not a lot of room for a larger cooler. Could sell the Caselabs (which I probably could for a decent...

3700X motherboard - stick with ASUS Tuf Gaming-Plus or go with MSI Unify?

I think my new build is quite decent - 3700x, 32gb cas 16 3200mhz ram, Caselabs BH7, 1 new NVME (1tb Inland), 2 SSD from previous build, Powercolor RX 5700XT, and a Noctua U9S (limited in what I can use due to case limitations). I already have the Asus Tuf, but I got it before they cut the price.

Unify gets in tomorrow. Even though I'm only using a 3700X, looking forward to getting it into the system.

BSOD loop (Critical Process Died) - New build computer - Can't boot from even USB

Update - I got a new CPU in from Amazon. Tested it on the original board (ASUS X570 Tuf Gaming-Plus), but with a Noctua U9S instead of the stock cooler. No issues booting from USB, no restarts, install was easy as can be, and can boot from Windows. It was the CPU all along. Amazon may get a lot...

BSOD loop (Critical Process Died) - New build computer - Can't boot from even USB

I think it's a CPU issue - I've used 2 different boards now. Going to try out Pendragon's advice but if that doesn't work, back to Amazon the CPU goes with a notice that it's defective.

BSOD loop (Critical Process Died) - New build computer - Can't boot from even USB

I'm currently running the RAM at stock speed - not trying to do anything just yet to get them up to 3200. I'm at step one of your advice (getting a single stick to work at the slowest speed). I'm trying to just boot up from the bootable USB! I can't even get the bootable USB to boot, let alone...

BSOD loop (Critical Process Died) - New build computer - Can't boot from even USB

My apologies if I'm sounding a bit frustrated. I've tried multiple times with different RAM DIMM configurations, different MB's. BSOD loop (Critical Process Died) - New build computer - Can't boot from even USB

So that 2nd thread indicates to me that it's either an UEFI issue or CPU (memory controller) issue. I'm updating the new mobo right now to at least ABBA 1.0.0.3 ABBA as suggested. If I continue to have problems after that, I'll order a new CPU to see if it's an issue there.

Update - I got a new mobo, Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite, with new RAM that's on its QVL... and still getting errors. I'm going to try and flash the BIOS first. * Basic Guide to Improving Case Airflow*

So I decided to go with 2 top internal 120mm fans, going with slim Noctua's. And going with a horizontal flow CPU cooler, Noctua NH U9S with an additional fan to have push/pull on the CPU cooler. I think it'll have the benefits of increased positive pressure and not having a great deal of hot...

    * Basic Guide to Improving Case Airflow*

146mm is the height specified by Caselabs - but that is *without* any fans on the top. So the only fans would be front intake fans. Do you think that a larger cooler and just 2 intake fans is better than 4 intake fans, and a lower profile cooler (the question of whether to go with a horizontal...

    * Basic Guide to Improving Case Airflow*

Right, that makes sense. So, looking at pcpartpicker.com, I see 2 horizontal flow CPU coolers that will fit the Bullet BH7 case, while still allowing for 2 120mm top intake fans: Noctua NH D9L Noctua NH U9S And if I went with the bottom-to-top CPU coolers, I'm looking at using the 2 top 120mm...

    * Basic Guide to Improving Case Airflow*

So taking a look at the case, the 146mm is the max height of the cooler *without* any top fans. So the two options are: 1. No intake top fans, and just the 2 120mm front intake fans. A cooler like the CryoRig H7. Would have a front to back airflow. 2. 2 top 120mm intake fans, as well as the 2...
